Red Flame can't come close to IN THE FAST LANE...Legislate a serious racehorse in the making...just has to beat the draw in the Daily News...Louis a lively runner...will enjoy Greyville track!

None of these will win the Daily News, Louis The King, Legislate nor Captain America. Both LTK and Legislate are almost certain to make the final July field and their trainers may use this as prep runs going into the July, besides which, it is obvious they are desperately trying to qualify, in the case of Woodruff, Rake's Chestnut, and Crawford, Futura, for the July. Captain America, I'm not so sure the Greyville track suits this horse the way Legislate skipped away from him coming from behind him. I have been more wrong than right in racing, but that's just my hunch looking at the nominations. Preparing the egg visor for Saturday, 31/05:D.

Legislate's main mission for the Durban season is the Daily News - he was still underdone in the KZN Guineas...Snaith not sure if he will run him in the July...depends on how he performs in the Daily News and the July weights. SERIOUS RACEHORSE!! :)o

NI, I'm not saying he isn't a serious race horse, he won the Derby relatively easy, so he stays the 2000m, that's clear for everyone to see. Being an automatic July runner, I personally think Snaith would be happier if the horse finishes stronger than most, albeit not winning the race, but leaving something to work with in the weeks leading up to the July. You may be correct in that the DN 2000 is he's main mission and after that they cut and run overseas, a la Vercingetorix, in which case, lump on if you privy to that information.

Yup, I understand exactly where you comin from B, just don't think a top trainer would use a Grade 1 race like the Daily News for a top 3 year old as a prep. The Guineas was his prep for the Daily News...so I'm sure he will go ALL out to win it. (tu)

Short memory lad, Sean Tarry used it as a prep for Pomodoro

Lets see what happens SP....unless Snaith is changing his plans at the last minute, his mission for Legislate was always the Daily News...but that's not to say he can't win the July as well...(tu)

Surely IF Legislate wins the DN, it will be a no-brainer to have a tilt at the July (depending on weights I suppose).

I see Whistle Stop is running in a Pinnacle Stakes over 1600 on Sunday at Turffontein - a pipe opener for the DN :S
