After last night's tricky Greyville card, things don't appear any easier at both Kenilworth and Turffontein today. Kingvoldt aside, it may be easier navigating a minefield than today's card.
Having said that, one I'm hoping runs a big race today is Play Of Light ( 5/1 in R4). It hasn't run in illustrious company as have Miss Saigon (17/10), stable companion Princess Of The Sky (7/2) and Patara (9/2), but from draw one and if sat on patiently, could surprise. Her better runs have been at Durbanville or on the old Kenilworth track, so I am of the opinion she has a very short burst of speed and then becomes one paced. Interesting Neisius rode her when winning her maiden, that's a plus, so I'm hoping she can get a decent break and hang onto the coat tails of the leaders and be produced at the right time. "Don't panic Karl, just stay in touch".
Anyways, I'm not confident, but it's worth a go at 5/1.
I have taken the each way double :-
Play Of Light X Hillbrow (Turf R6)

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
