What a joke shades of 1974 bringing Hannes Marais out of retirement against the British Lions and look what happened

Was obvious he would go for a Bulls player considering his ties with them...provincialism has not died in SA cricket and rugby...:S

There are sooo many up and coming locks in SA rugby! It was also initially said that Victor would not be offered a SA contract??? Heineke's results have been go so far, but he really needs to open his eyes and move onwards and upwards. There is no sign of the youngsters he needs to start bringing through.

I heard that some of the Western Province stalwarts (Divan Serfontein, Calla Scholtz, Carel du Plessis, etc) of the past want to return to rugby in time for the World Cup but realised that they only had a chance of selection if playing for the Bulls...
Big backhand to current players for Heyneke to call up a recently returned player who doesn't play every match for the Bulls to captain the team...:S

There are more than enough players who can do the same job of jumping in the lineout as Victor......and those same young players are way more physical too. Im not taking away from this legend of the game, but its time to move on now Heineke
