Very sad, made him a big runner even with the weight. It also changes things for several other runners as King Of Pain will I would imagine now go to 60kgs which would mean Beach Beauty would carry 59kgs so that would definately take her out IMO.

Rob, accepted to run in the BW Jubilee at Turfontein on Saturday, so doesn't look like it.

ICE, thats not the point, punters know the risk with antepost betting.

But in Yorkers case i wrote on the forum on the 26th May that he was going oversees , yet it was virtually denied

Now he was officially scratched today?

but was quarantine not on the 8th?

mr brugman was interviewed by Andrew bon about Yorker running in the july perhaps hibs can ask Andrew to post that interview on here..i didn't have any antepost bets Yorker but in my opinion if a punter does money on antepost bets where the horse doesn't make the final field or gets injured then they wont feel aggrieved however this whole issue could be averted by having Yorker as a doubtful starter and not having him in the betting for the july until the final field is out.the bookies could have adjusted the odds accordingly with him not being in the antepost betting.this issue only sours people to the game as mr hawaai says its the biggest race of the year

As i thought the 8th??

And the way Geoff Woodruff was talking leading up to the Rising Sun.....it sounded like Yorker would definitely race in the July! That for me is offsides!

Would agree, unless final decision was only made after the Rising Sun, otherwise why not have Yorker fully tuned up for the Rising Sun?

According to sahorseracing,:

Weights Published: Tuesday, 10 June

I'm sure it's Tuesday the 10th today, so where are they ? (Or do they need to re-program the calculator now that Yorker is out?)

Also true, cos Woody did say he wasnt 100%........implying that he would be 100% for the July

As far as I know horses were supposed to be in quarantine by the 8th June - Brugman said that Yorker was 99% positive that Yorker would run in the July...as they were looking at sending the horse to the USA and that they were waiting to receive confirmation by yesterday, which obviously they did. I think that sometimes with the export regulations that are so shitty for SA horses, the owners and trainers are not even sure what is going on regarding exportation! But I am not taking sides...just saying that we as punters are aware of the risks of ante-post bets, whether it be a horse that gets exported, falls ill, gets hacked like Pas De Quoi did or whatever else might go wrong with the horse so long before the final field is out.
