Muhtiman has got it right..............................the operators who have scrapped the no coupling rules have in fact become Bookies bedfellows. In the past maybe before your time RP, horses from one stable were COUPLED on the tote for WIN, JACKPOT, P6. However if you bet with the Bookie, you bet each individual runner, no couplings.
Now that you mention Mr. Millard RP, let me bring back a story of how things can take a turn for the worse in a race.................
BIMBINA upsets FLYING SNOWDROP at Minerton.
Trainer Terence Millard was a master at training fillies and in this particular year he had a few running in the CAPE FILLIES GUINEAS at Milnerton. The favorite was his horse FLYING SNOWDROP owned by Graham Beck at the restrictive odds of 1 to 5 odds on. BIMBINA was the stable-mate lesser fancied at 50 to 1, also raced in the G.Beck colors. Felix Coetzee was on the hot favorite.
The unthinkable happened and BIMBINA beat FLYING SNOWDROP into 2nd place. However the story doesn't end there!!! Two people lost their lives because of this result.
A Natal Midlands Doctor placed a bet with his Bucket shop bookie on FLYING SNOWDROP @ 1 to 5 and wagered R25,OOO-- to win R5,OOO, telephonically. To cut a long story short, the bet lost and the Doc couldn't pay the R25,OOO-- so he lured the 2 bucket shop bookies to a lonely spot and shot them both dead.Last I can recall he was serving a sentence, but not the death penalty.
However those punters that backed FLYING SNOWDROP on the Tote and had it in their Jackpots, they were in the payout Q. No P6 bets were offered then.
The venue where this tragic tale occurred no longer serves to race thoroughbreds any more........................the Western Cape racing went into difficulties and had to sell off assets.

Royal that is racing and in many stables the stable companion wins - Geoff runs them because they also have a chance/ Just because the market or his opinion is that another one will win doesn't mean he will be right. All it shows is your lack of understanding of horses and horse racing. Geoff is an absolute gentleman as is Tim - and stupid comments like yours are what makes people distrust others. BTW Geoff did say he was worried about Tellina and the hard going and it drifted accordingly in the betting - which you failed to compliment him on.
