CTN DID NOT GET THE BEST RIDE IN VDJ 2013.

I watched the replay of last years VDJ and must admit that in my opinion CTN did not get the best of rides. Turning for home it seemed to have plenty left in the tank and was about to go for the kill... then at this point in the race the jockey decided to pull him to the centre of the course then after about 100m he decided to bring him back out for a run.... if he just kept CTN on the outside(where he was when they turned for home) then I am 100% certain that this horse would have won handsomely.

Same jockey maintains the ride. I hope that he does not do the same thing this year as I make this horse the one to beat. GREAT EACHWAY VALUE.

And the weight?

Doesn't bother me at all.

CTN is my favourite horse in that race, always been sentimental about him ever since he won his maiden. Ill tell you this much though, every single time I backed him, I lost my house (well now, its mine, my neighbors and my servants quarters). The day when Vercingetorix pipped him at Greyville by a ball hair, and even his last run in JHB where I still believe he got up to beat Yorker... I'll watch the race, and if he does win, I'll be elated. Not for my money though.... Unless, someone has another house to loan me? (

Free my Heart was good enough to win KZN Derby (when it was such before re-branding of race...) over 2400 metres so had stamini...

0.05 behind Yorker 3runs back, a nose behind vercingetorix in guineas, and then a head behind vercingetorix in daily news.. Hooked out widest of all in last year's July and was still running on.. King of Pain relieves him of the top weight by winning rising sun.. And then its 14/1, although I see money coming for it into 11s.. This is a huge runner.. My pick for the July.. Matter of how far..

i concur.. huge runner

He is never far off and I believe he can go the distance... took a nibble at 33-1 a few weeks ago -

I love CTN but have been dissapointed with him when asked to quicken over longer trips,he was close enough to them last year to have gobbled them with his pace if he truly stayed

Does he stay? With blinkers? Doubt it
