Taken from www.chronicle.co.zw/plans-afoot-to-revive-ascot-racecourse/ on 10 April 2014.

PLANS are afoot to revive the now defunct Ascot Racecourse in Bulawayo, more than 10 years after professional racing was suspended at the facility. A Bulawayo-born horseracing enthusiast, Innocent Moyo, who is based in the United Kingdom, is behind the Ascot Racecourse revival plans and has already held discussions with the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Andrew Langa over the issue.

Eish, not so sure.

First time I ever went to the races..Bulawayo's Ascot. First winner - that's how I got into this beautiful but consuming game. A horse called Magic Bell. Anything else from that era I can't remember - but oh, that first hit!!

How often do they race at Borrowdale now? Surely there is no good reason to revive another course if you are only racing once every 2-3 weeks ? Overkill by a mile -

I was last there in the mid 90's and I remember thinking that there were so few traffic lights - Reminded me of pictures of dorps on postcards in South Africa in the 50's - I wonder if it's changed?

They don't have two bob to rub together, from the last photo's I've seen on Ascot it would take a fortune to get it up and running, something they don't have sadly .
