In urgent need of a successful MENTOR
10 years 10 months ago
If you sing badly, people will tell you not to change your day-job.
If I believe there are money to be made with betting and my betting-balance is in the red, then I knew that I do it wrongly. And at my age I do not have another day-job.
Like yesterday, I made the following mistakes:
1) When I loose a bet, I want to make-up the losses with a next nice bet.
2) Then I loose a nice bet because I am over-cautious
3 And then I do the " In All" compulsively and that guarantee another loss.
The vicious circle.
I would like to get on my feet only for one-time. Can someone advice me please?
The right person will advise me with a special message, perhaps on my phone 0828387981
I will rob a bank for the right tip. One day I could role a stone for you too.
Kind regards

My advice, be selective and exercise patience. Bookies/the tote love clients who bet on every race, every day, there can only be one winner, and it's not the punter.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Bob,I think you overestimate the ability to handicap.
The average 12 yr old could be taught the maths in an afternoon.
Experience obviously has value in "adjusting" the "result" before doing that maths (horses baulked, slow out, badly drawn etc etc ) and many here have that experience.
If I were to be asked to advise anybody towards better returns I would suggest finding a good rating system as a basis(few have the time or tools to develop their own) filter or adjust further as your handicapping gets more reliable and then, the most beneficial addition I have made to my forecasting is the comparing of ratings with "patterns."(unfortunately developing your "pattern" data takes time) to get a more accurate probability.
The idea being that it is one thing to record the form, but forecasting which form is more likely to be reproduced is what contributes most to structuring bets and staking plans...............both being vital to any chance of consistent profits.
I am not sure I have made myself understood in so few words as you could write volumes on the subject!
(The reason I say rating system rather than tips is that tips are no value in the long run unless they are "weighted" to assess the value price and to assist the bet structure, and I have seen very few tips that include those factors)
After all that, what Bayern says is good advice ..........."Have the patience to wait for the standout bets and the balls to punt them when they come along"

Rob if you ever decide to a basic handicapping "course" for want of a better word, I would also gladly pay for something like that.

Bunks,go to the NHRA website and under "horseracing" look for the guide to handicapping. I would suggest you print that and become familiar with it.
There is nothing I could tell you that is not right there.....and it is very well explained.
Whoever put that together did a great job,in my opinion.

Loopy ,I am going to register and look at the way you display your ratings(The only reason I haven't to date is not disinterest but to avoid my worst nightmare...... "too much info"

I am, however, interested how you reflect the weighting of the selections so users can estimate the ratings value levels.(as described in my previous post.)
The problem I have with "tips"(as opposed to ratings) is if a tipster tips a horse in all 9 races, surely he can't be suggesting that each selection has the same chance of winning.
