If you would like to try out a ratings system (rather than tipping) You are welcome to contact me and try ours out for Free for a month.
Regards,
Loopy
Loopy ,I am going to register and look at the way you display your ratings(The only reason I haven't to date is not disinterest but to avoid my worst nightmare...... "too much info")if you start to use more than one rating system, even if both are equally good, confusion becomes inevitable!
I am, however, interested how you reflect the weighting of the selections so users can estimate the ratings value levels.(as described in my previous post.)
The problem I have with "tips"(as opposed to ratings) is if a tipster tips a horse in all 9 races, surely he can't be suggesting that each selection has the same chance of winning.
More than welcome Rob, I will activate same for you free of charge for a month. Totally agree with you regarding "weighted ratings" and the "our ratings explained" page that comes with the Daily Excel is pretty easy and self explanatory as well as a "venue pointers" sheet with pointers of what works best at each venue. 95% of those that has joined has found them very useful so would be very glad for you to try them out and even suggest potential improvements. I will look out for your registration.
Regards,
Loopy

When you chase you get deeper into SH1T.Yesterday I was told PULLER 1ST and 2ND Race. I wanted to punt the second but because I am not a chaser and also lost quite a bit I decided if it wins let it win. AND IT WON. All it takes is discipline.

So, I must go to Hangover to get a hangover. That sounds like a value-bet to me. To forget about my losses (lol)

Couldn't agree more with the comments above.
A typical mistake most punters make is chasing the carrot, that's why many good punters stick to exotics, that way they are able to cover all their selections. Another typical mistake many punters make is trying to find value, there are many definitions to the word "value" in horse racing, some believe it's 10/1, some believe 9/10 a place is great value, it all depends on YOUR expectations and your mental ability to accept that whatever stake you place is a RISK.
99% of horse racing is having the mental capacity to accept loss, human beings are creatures of habit and hence we keep chasing until we bust or eventually turn a profit... but it won't be long until we find ourselves in the same situation.
Information is a BEEG key factor in this game, visit trainers websites on a regular basis, keep in touch with people involved in the game, ABC is a great portal for information, it's important to identify how well certain horses are, never mind how they are handicapped, handicapping hasn't made many people a profit unless very disciplined like Loopy
Most importantly be smart, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is... identify the logistics around each meeting, the going, sex of horses, age and weight for age allowances, recent form, jockey/trainer statistics per track. There are a million different variations for each meeting and a case can be made for each runner for every race, bottom line remains there can be only one winner and there will be, places a few more, sometimes four but naturally at massively reduced odds.
So before taking your next bet, realistically calculate what your desirable outcome is for the day i.e. R1000.00. Look at the race card, study the form of each race and note your selections, afterwards you need to justify to yourself why you selected that horse, there must be something significant in order to make it a worthy selection, if you are having a straight bet then would you banker that horse in your exotics???? BIG question!!! If your answer is NO then a straight bet is just a silly idea. If you are happy with your selection, then ask yourself what you've missed, perhaps you overlooked something, identify any possible dangers.
I wish you the best of luck!!

Garth made it quite clear that Prince of Arabia would need much further (and repeated it to Deez before the race) he liked Dreya's Gold with his only reservation that she had not been to Scottsville , was adamant that Kings Affair would appreciate the extra and expected Eco Storm to run "his normal honest race"...

you can have all the handicapping skills in the world but if you haven't got the skill to watch horses canter down to the start then it will amount to zero...the wellbeing of a horse and the behaviour and way it goes down to the start is of paramount importance to making up your mind as a punter...a small example yesterday I had ankered command chi in my pa but when it went down I changed it because I thought he went down short and he looked like he wasn't enjoying the very heavy conditions....
