Nooresh Juglall
10 years 10 months ago
Just had a chat with Nooresh who is doing the SAJA proud in Singapore, his first ride there was a winner (for Pat Shaw) on 15th June and in just 6 weeks he has amassed 15 winners and numerous places from his 70 rides and at the moment has a 21% win strike rate, he is absolutely loving it and says that he is knocked out by the hospitality he has been shown since arriving, racing there is in a "totally different division" to anywhere else that he has ridden, he is on a 3 month trial thanks mainly to the help he got from Larry Weinstein and Debbie Hawkins when we first applied for him to get in there.
Currently living at Bennie Woodworth's home whilst Bennie is riding in Mauritius he is hoping to get an extension to his work permit and if that is the case he plans to make Singapore his home for the foreseeable future, He won with the ex MDK inmate Alexandra Palace who was having his first run for Pat Shaw and feels that the horse has a huge future there, AP is running in a feature on the 15th and while Barend Voster is off injured he is hoping to get the ride again, and has won 3 from 3 on the L.Khoo trained War Time.
He will be returning to Mauritius in December to get married and the hopefully back to Singapore,he really is a good kid and a very good rider hope he gets the chance to keep flying our flag.

Well done on the achievements, another Mauritian jockey to excel with Karis Teetan already performing very well in H.K.
I think young Akash Aucharuz will also prove successful when the 2014 Champ Appie eventually decides to leave these shores.

Nooresh is really on top of his game right now. What is amazing as well is his strike rate and the type of horses he used to get to ride at first (Horses with basically very minor chance of winning), despite this, he is right there, delivering the good.
After his four timer, I see he is been given very nice horses to ride, which definitely bodes great
Definitely Agree, Akash Aucharuz, will follow the footstep of Karis and Nooresh
He is very talented.
The Mauritius Turf Club is sending Akshay Balloo again
I think he won a feature in PE for Justin Snaith, already
He is a young lad, but worth following in the future
