DF - obviously need the first timers not to fire and for this one to be ready after 57 weeks off but decent trainer/jock combo (though ones they like are usually punted), drawn on the right side, debut was on very soft going and maybe didn't enjoy but not the worst maiden field ever either. Gelded.

GG - Not a lot going for her really but this looks a very weak field overall and the stable has come back to form recently, had 13 top 5 finishes in last 29 runners, including 4 winners, one at 20/1 and one at 33/1. Had a 150/1 shot run 3rd, 75/1 5th, 66/1 3rd, 33/1 2nd, 22/1 4th and 5th. Drawn high but with only 13 runners may be not a disaster and though form is poor did seem to be gradually (if very very slowly in poor-ish fields!!) improving until last run but that was when the stable were going nowhere and had blinkers which are now removed.

I expect them both to be well beaten but these are not called idiot bets because of the brilliant logic behind their selection!
