For starters you could try BUCHU SPARKLING WATER , take one cup in the morning on an empty stomach.
I get mine from Food Lover's Market and it is also available at Pick & Pay. At about R30-- per 1.5 litre it won't hurt the pocket.
As per the following article quote ;
" Buchu is also known to be a tonic for kidney and liver disorders, arthritis, rheumatism, cystisis and prostatitis, high blood pressure, coughs and colds, gout and water retention and as a cure for a hangover.Due to it's natural diuretic and liver-flushing abilities, it is also said to help with weight -loss."

here's what you waiting for:
Foods that detox the body and cleanse the LIVER:
By Traci D Mitchell, December 10, 2013 at 6:29 am
Here are 10 foods that detox your body and cleanse your liver. Think of your liver as an air filter. All the toxins we eat, drink and breathe in get clogged up in this hard-working organ. Even though our body has it's own natural detoxification system, there is a lot we can do to give it a helping hand, largely by eating the right kinds of foods.
Most of the foods in the gallery contain a special protein called glutathione. Glutathione handcuffs toxins and drags them out of our body…quite effectively. Here's the catch: this handcuffing process works best when foods are eaten raw. In fact, all of the foods listed here go from being a great source of glutathione to not containing any at all when they're cooked. Food for thought.
If your body needs to get the yuck out, add Brussels sprouts to your diet today. Brussels sprouts are high in sulfur, which helps to remove toxins from the blood. Eating a serving or two of Brussels sprouts daily will help sponge out toxins – whether they’re environmental or dietary. These little sprouts also boost glucosinolate, an antioxidant that forces the liver to release enzymes that block damage.
A fresh bulb of garlic. Don’t have any in your kitchen right now? You should. Here’s why…garlic is loaded with sulfur, a mineral that helps rid the body of toxins. Garlic has also been shown to reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Garlic has been used in the treatment of high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, and bacteria-related illnesses. Keep in mind, heating destroys many of the beneficial properties of garlic. If you can't stomach raw garlic, you can find it in capsule form in most grocery of health food stores.
Yes, that's a dandelion. While I don't recommend pesticide, fertilizer-covered weeds to anyone, store-bought varieties are perfectly safe. If you can't find dandelion leaves in your grocery store, opt for dandelion root tea instead. Dandelion root tea has been shown to rid the liver of toxins. Since our liver is responsible for breaking down fats, producing amino acids and generally filtering the gunk out – we need to take care of it. Dandelion root tea has a fairly bitter taste. I often brew a few cups of it, let it steep for a while, add lemon juice and sip on it all day.
Carrots are another food rich in glutathione, a protein that helps detoxify the liver. In addition to the detox properties, carrots contain good amounts of vitamin C, B6 and potassium. They also loaded with vitamin A and K, too! It's best to eat these raw. Try with a side of guacamole, hummus or even mustard!
Raw tomatoes do a great job detoxifying the liver, containing 169 milligrams of glutathione per serving. The benefits don't stop there. Tomatoes are famous for their lycopene content, which has been shown to protect against breast, skin and lung cancer. Eat tomatoes when they're fresh. Try with a little balsamic vinegar and sea salt.
Grapefruit contains just over 70 milligrams of liver cleansing glutathione. Grapefruits also contain a special kind of pectin that has been shown to lower cholesterol like no other pectin-containing food. One whole grapefruit is about 80 calories, so enjoy with a cup of cottage cheese or plain yogurt sprinkled with cinnamon and you've got a great breakfast.
Popeye's favorite, spinach, contains a whopping 166 milligrams of glutathione per serving when eaten raw. Cook it, and it all goes away. Spinach also contains twice as much energy-boosting iron as other leafy greens. Spinach has also gained a lot of attention as a cancer-fighter, too. Try a spinach salad today with a little olive oil and sea salt drizzled on top.
Walnuts detox the liver and feed the brain! A good source of glutathione and a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, a little bit of walnuts goes a long way. Why not sprinkle a few on your next spinach salad?
Avocados are another fruit rich in glutathione. This green goddess is also a good source of monounsaturated fats and has been shown to lower cholesterol levels when eaten regularly.
In addition to being great for the liver, asparagus is a great vegetable to eat raw when you're feeling bloated. Asparagus is a natural diuretic.
There are plenty of ways to detox your body without dieting. My advice is to incorporate moderate, but regular amounts of these foods in your diet on a regular basis. Along with plenty of fresh water, your liver will be loving you in no time. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to ease off the sugar, alcohol and processed foods - as they're all known "liver-cloggers."

Dave I think you should stop the beer now and try this:
A nightly cup of cocoa could help stave off Alzheimer’s, scientists claim.
Tests showed that a specific type of cocoa stops clumps of proteins from building up in the brain and damaging nerve cells – causing the disease to progress.
Lavado cocoa is full of polyphenols, antioxidants which are also found in fruit and vegetables, with past studies suggesting that they prevent degenerative brain diseases.
The team also tested the effects of extracts of Dutched and Natural cocoa, but Lavado, which has the highest levels of polyphenols, was found to be most effective at combatting the build up of harmful proteins.
The findings are published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
The study by scientists at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York looked at synapses - the gaps between nerve cells.
Because loss of synaptic function may have a greater role in memory loss than the loss of nerve cells, rescue of synaptic function may serve as a more reliable target for an effective Alzheimer's disease drug, said study leader professor Giulio Maria Pasinetti.
Within healthy nerve pathways, each nerve cell sends an electric pulse down which releases chemicals called neurotransmitters that float across the gap and pass on messages.
However, in brains with degenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, groups of harmful proteins attach to each other and can fill in the gaps between nerve cells, disrupting memory circuits and other normal brain functions.

Tonight I focus on ear care:
Ear infections are a common health problem that affects everyone at some point in their life. Our ear is divided into three sections: outer ear, middle ear and the inner ear. Ear infections usually occur in the middle ear. The middle ear comprises the eardrum and the small space behind it which gets filled with mucus or sometimes gets infected by bacteria or viruses. This space is connected to the back of the throat through a tiny channel called the Eustachian tube. Irritation to the Eustachian tube causes symptoms like ear pain, irritation and redness in the ear. Ear infections are often ignored at the onset and expected to wane with time. However, ears are delicate organs and easily damaged. Persistent ear pain should always be treated by a doctor.
There are some home remedies that are effective in reducing or, in some cases, curing ear problems. Chief amongst these home remedies is olive oil. Olive oil is a fruit oil that has the taste, aroma, and all the nutrient benefits of olives. It promotes easy digestion and has also been linked to prevention of heart disease, cancer and diabetes. In this article, we will focus on the benefits of olive oil as a natural remedy for ear infections.
Role of Olive Oil in Curing Ear Infections
Olive oil has been used as a natural analgesic for ear infections for centuries. It works by soothing the walls of the outer ear and providing a layer of protection against bacterial infections.
Removal of Earwax
Olive oil is a skin-friendly monounsaturated oil, which can be used for the removal of excess earwax. Dropping 1-2 drops of olive oil in the ear twice a day, for a week or so, helps to moisturize the skin of the ear. Apart from this, one can also soak toilet paper in olive oil and microwave it warm. Then squeeze as many drops of the warm olive oil into the ear and complete the procedure by plugging it with the same piece of paper. This treatment is highly effective in removing earwax and works within 5-10 minutes of application.
Analgesic
Olive oil can also be used to reduce earache. Start by mincing one clove of garlic and heat it in a tablespoon of olive oil for 5-7 minutes over low heat. You do not have to cook the garlic; the purpose of heating it is to mix the garlic oil with olive oil. Pour and strain the mixed oils into a small glass container. Now with the help of an ear dropper, pour a few drops of this oil into the sore ear. After a few minutes, plug the ear with cotton. The next morning, cleanse the ear with hydrogen peroxide. Keep the cotton in your ear for the entire day, and repeat the oil treatment at night. This ear remedy provides immediate comfort and heals ear infections in a day or two. If garlic is not readily available, you can also use onion juice or cinnamon.
Hence, the use of olive oil in place of antibiotics proves to be a natural and safe method of treatment, especially for children. Though the oil may take some time to effect the cure, it provides long-lasting benefits with no side effects. However, in severe cases, or if you get no relief even after using olive oil or other home remedies, you should consult an ENT specialist to determine the underlying cause and start with the prescribed medications.

Cod liver oil
The next treat on the list is oil extracted from the liver of certain fish, most commonly cod, as the name suggests. Cod liver oil was added to my list of gross but healthy foods because it has the foul stench of rotten fish.
Another stomach-wrenching fact about cod liver oil is that it tastes just about as bad as it smells. No matter how you ingest it, whether in liquid or pill form, you are guaranteed to taste it going down — and it’ll stay with you all day, no matter what you eat afterwards. Since it is oil, it leaves a greasy aftertaste on your tongue long after you consume it.
All slimy, nasty fishiness aside, cod liver oil is one of the most important supplements you can take to fuel your body. It is a pure source of omega-3 fatty acids, which help protect against heart disease. Furthermore, regular consumption of cod liver oil boosts your immune system and has been shown to aid in the treatment of arthritis, ulcers, diabetes, and depression. People living in cold climates will especially benefit from cod liver oil, as it is a great source of vitamin D, which is sometimes lacking in people who live in regions of the world that don’t offer much sunlight.
Wheatgrass
If you’ve ever been to a natural food store or a smoothie shop, chances are you’ve seen or heard of wheatgrass, which is a type of grass that comes from the young sprouts of wheat seeds. It is usually given in the form of a thick, green, liquid shot, followed by a wedge of lemon to dispel some of its bitterness.
Wheatgrass is disgusting because it tastes like someone’s lawn. Just think: There is a reason your dog or cat throws up after eating too much grass in the backyard. But if you can stand the bitter taste of shrubbery, it will be worth your while.
Wheatgrass has long been hailed as a “superfood” by nutritionists and health-food junkies alike, because the green plant contains all of the amino acids the body needs, including essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Drinking one tiny shot of wheatgrass is equivalent to eating 2.5 pounds of green vegetables.
In addition to being extraordinarily high in vitamins A, B, C, and E, wheatgrass also neutralizes toxins and carcinogens in the body, helps prevent tooth decay, improves digestion, reduces high blood pressure, and prevents or lowers the risk of certain types of cancer.
So, if you can handle the pungent taste of grass, this is by far the healthiest little shot of green gunk you can consume.
Blood sausage
This food made it to my list for its name alone, but its name is only the beginning of the dreadful aspects of this food. Blood sausage — sometimes referred to as black pudding or blood pudding — is cooked pork meat mixed with beef blood, gelatin and spices. The blood is heated with the gelatin until it is thick enough to congeal.
Aside from the obvious reasons that make this food disgusting — like the fact that it is made with congealed blood — the stuff looks gross. Blood sausage is almost entirely black, which indicates the amount of concentrated blood that is cooked in it.
Okay, eating jellied black plasma is gross, but there are many redeeming health benefits to the stuff. Blood sausage is a very good source of protein and it is essentially carb-free, making it a perfect addition to your low-carb diet. Furthermore, there are relatively few calories in it, especially when compared with other types of sausage. Finally, blood sausage is rich in iron and zinc, two nutrients that are frequently missing from the average adult’s body.
So, if meat is your thing, and you’re ready for something entirely different, give blood sausage a try.
a hard bite to swallow - GOOD for YOU.
For Iron I will use spinnach and for Zinc I will use pumkin seeds ..... Keep it Simple

Bigh its natural make a salad with carrot, tomatoes and spinnach - don't not use salad dressing and salt. It will good for you. You can add nuts and other things you like into the salad (corriander and spring onion, mint, lettuce)
