10 years 11 months ago
I posted on the UK thread that a horse had been punted into odds on race 3 Southwell
Now I notice the horse was punted from 6/1 into 11/8 then they withdrew mccoys original mount 5/1 shot 10% deduction and switched jocks
Job landed !

BY CHRIS HUMPLEBY 3:31PM 3 SEP 2014
THE Jim Best-trained Saint Helena landed a significant gamble at Southwell on Wednesday under Tony McCoy.

Having opened at 6-1 in the morning, Saint Helena was originally the mount of Rhys Flint, with McCoy set to partner stable companion Into The Wind.
However, McCoy switched to handicap debutante Saint Helena after Into The Wind, a general 4-1 shot, was withdrawn on account of the ground.
Having traded at 11-8 prior to the withdrawal, Saint Helena was backed into 11-10 favourite before the off and, while punters had a few edgy moments as she was niggled along half way, McCoy was at his strongest to drive the six-year-old to a one-length success.
The victory completed a double on the afternoon for McCoy, who had earlier scored aboard Ever So Much, taking his tally for the season to 120 as the quest for a twentieth jockey's championship continues.
The stewards held an enquiry to consider the apparent improvement in form of the winner, which had never previously been placed.
They interviewed the trainer who stated that the mare, who had been a very buzzy type in the past, settled better and had benefited from a break of 125 days since her last run. He added that Saint Helena was suited by the firmer ground on this occasion.
Having heard his evidence they forwarded his explanation to the BHA so that the previous performances of Saint Helena could be reviewed. The stewards ordered the mare to be routine tested.
