Thanks for the booms, but.....
17 years 1 month ago
Firstly and foremostly I want to say a HUGE thank you to all on the site for the kind words, but lets put it into perpective,I am up against some world class jockeys in this country and although we have lost some talent to overseas tracks it is my belief that the cream of our riders are still riding right here,
The ride Strydom gave Urabamba on Saturday was pure class the fact that the horse won as it did was in my opinion only due to his outstanding judgement of pace and perfect balance, and the ride Jay Peg was given by Anton was out the top draw an awesome display which made me proud to be South African, not forgetting Mark Khan,Figgy Karl Weichong Cormack Bernard....the list is endless and just being competitive in this arena is for me a great boost,I am currently battling with my weight and have now decided to take control of the situation by taking 2 weeks off and getting down to a strong and consistent 56kg's,I have been picking up and shedding between 4 and 5 kg's inbetween race meetings which is not only hazardous to my own well being but grossly unfair on all owners and trainers that I am riding for,I will be back shortly without the weight problem and although I intend to finish as high up the ladder as I can this season I have set myself a target of the top 3 in the 2008/2009 season and I can asure you all I will be doing whatever it takes to achieve this,I am unable to get on here as often as I would like to but I do pop past and read the posts and will do my best to post more often once I am settled back at home after this 2 week stint at the Spa...till then thanks again for the support,Andrew

Wise, be nice now - lol!
Andrew is obviously using such enforced break in a positive way.
All the best Andrew, top 3 next year sounds a reasonable target - keep up the fight mate.
Respectfully, Jim.

LOL Jess!
Wise has certainly got a 'hard on' (as they say stateside), by the way she keeps on about his weight etc - dbl-lol!!
Just joshing Wise, I still owe you that box of choc's next time I'm over.
All the best guys this weekend - I'm making a plan for a 'quick trip' to the 'Big T', if I'm given the 'heads up' over a certain Filly running in the next 6 weeks - Ouzo, Jim.
