Trainers having a good season

Robbie Sage going well. Two top three year olds.
Stuart Pettigrew 23 winners for the season . Lots of fillies.
Wendy Whitehead 28 Winners . Not scared to come to JHB. Cape Sissies.
Mitch Wiese 21 wins. On
Sure there are others these are my picks

Mark Dixon having great season in KZN (2 stakes wins last Sunday), and Umngazi also won 500k race in Gauteng
Justin Snaith is having season of his life
You can hardly compare raiding from KZN (Whitehead) with travelling from Cape Town. Taking a horse to Gauteng in April and then down to KZN would be asking a hell of a lot. Like a Gauteng horse running in the July and then finding it has to travel to CT for the Met six weeks later. Not sure many of your 'manly' Gauteng trainers would be prepared to take that on.
We 'cape sissies' will run 1-2 in the July this year

Dr Who - I agree with your July prediction!
Ron Phillips has had a nice trot in KZN too, Colin Scott Stable turning too, and Laff done well

Has only run three times outside the Cape, and he had an injury setback last KZN season, and was never 100%.
He had Our Giant standing still in the Met finish, and that one just beat the best you have to offer at levels. He is certainly a champion in terms of whats around in SA at the moment. Presumably you have an alternative version of who our 'champion' is ?

Yes to be fair its become a truism that raiding Gauteng cant be done, mainly because nobody ever tries it. Like 3yo's not being able to win the Met(before Horse Chestnut and Badgers Coast).
The problem is the GG is too close to the July, and the Summer Cup is too close to the Met

A horse like Hilgrove would be relatively well weighted, as he has never won a big race

woodruff will make an amazing comeback once he has solved the mares/fillies problem in the household?
almost like Bernard in cape town...once it was solved he rode many winners....
