I like the double :-

(R3) Light The Lights (8/10) X (R5) Bianzino (28/10)

but wait in the hope of a bigger price on Bianzino - will explain the reason for my selections later tonight, at work right now and no book with me.

Back home, as I was saying, Light The Lights is running in a Novice Plate and appears well in here racing off a MR 105. He has run to some very promising juveniles, Forries Waltz, ML Jet and Harry's Son and acquitted himself well. If anything, he is racing fit and should have the edge over Dynamic who has not raced for 592 days, and is at level weights with fellow 3 year old Man From Milan, who under handicap conditions would receive 7.5kgs from LTL. One would have to be connected to the Snaith stable to know how ready Dynamic will be, certainly a leading 3 year old before what ever caused the enforced break from racing, but as a complete outsider, I would think he would need the outing, or so I'm hoping. So 8/10 about Light The Lights is a fair price.

R5, for me the key is the 4.0kg pull in the weights which Bianzino receives from In The Cruise. I'm not au fait with how the Merit Ratings are allocated, but In The Cruise, a one time winner, won a juvenile race and is given a MR of 84. Bianzino wins early in he's 3 year old career (03/08/2014), in open company (where he had to be out at the weights at the WFA scale), and is allocated a MR of 76. Why the big difference, I'll appreciate it if someone can explain how it works - thanks in advance. Back to the race, whilst In The Cruise has a big reputation, he has never raced beyond 1200m and must concede 4.0kgs and a better draw to Bianzino, who has won over tomorrow's distance. The horses who ran second and third behind Bianzino have both come out and won, so the form has been franked. If Bianzino received the maximum penalty permissible for winning a Maiden race in open company, is it not inconceivable he could be better than rated?

Look forward to reading your thoughts/opinions.

Zain, Repertoire, on paper, should not finish ahead of Freezing Point on their respective runs to Tiger Tops. Repertoire and Tiger Tops are weighted to finish close to each other, whereas Freezing point enjoys a 7.5 kg swing in the weights with Tiger Tops for a 2.30 length beating. Freezing Point looks a runner in this race.
