That happened in NZ just before the WCup of 2007...SA needed to win to get to number 1 in the rankings and Kevin Mealamu scored with 3 minutes to go...but SA won the trophy that mattered !!!

why does your coach, yes my team but your coach (bulls) publish his team 4 days before the match. Is it in the IRB rule book that you have to do such thing. By doing so he has given the All Blacks more than ample time to work out plays against our boys. If i were coach (which will never happen as I just like millions of others have no clue) i would announce the team to the media 30 minutes before the kick off Element of surprise goes a long way
Like you I have no clue and I don't know what the rules are regarding team announcement- but what you say does make sense - must have his reasons though. But I have to correct you - Bulls only my 2nd team after the Lions.
I would definitely have Burger before Mohoje - and I don't think we can beat them by playing defensively in the first 60 mins - we tried it last year and got outplayed in the last 20 - so I agree we need to strike in the first half and get in front by hopefully 10 points - then bring on the 'defenders' in the last 20
Also in the bigger scheme of things, this game does not count for anything (yes of course we want to beat them) as we have already lost this tournament - so why not do what should have been done last year already with the end-of-year tour and give the younger guys a chance - I still say we can't win the World Cup with guys like Victor and Bakkies.

let me start by apologising to you Frodo for presuming that you were a Bulls fan. You come across as someone who knows his stuff so I should never have put you down as a Bulls fan.
I too doubt if we can win the WC especially in the Northern Hemisphere although the weather should be fair. I think that the ABs will be the first team to retain their trophy as they seem to have an abundance of talent coming through whereas we seem to change like for like. Don't write off England at home and the French always peak at World Cups.

the day has arrived for the Boks to put down a marker. Come on boys beat them and send them back to 'choice' land with their tails between their legs

The All Blacks should have named themselves the Pacific All Stars for they have always been able to co-opt the very best players from the Pacific Islands into their teams...too many teams (in a multitude of sports) are represented by players who were not born in that country...and it dilutes the achievements of that country as it was not achieved using players solely from that country...
Competitions between countries are becoming similar to competitions between clubs...
