Funny how when I was standing next to the man when he was asked about his runner and he said: She is a nice filly but could be green AND HAS A QUARTET CHANCE which does mean could finish 1st, 2nd,3rd or 4th. The owners who are not big punters were thrilled with the result and were delighted with their winning bet of a few bob each way. Owners were happy they own the horse and pay the bills. The best lesson I learnt was as an owner Punting is not the most important thing having a horse that can win is good enough. Well done to the trainer, jockey and wonderful owners.

I'm all for transforming racing and i wonder if a new syndicate of punters get together to buy a horse if they will then broadcast that their horse can't lose!!!I doubt it- I've been to enough totes in my time to see how punters behave - they expect owners and trainers to give them info so that they can get rich - How do you think the owner got the money to buy the horse in the first place by being stupid! You would not phone up a stockbroker and ask him what he's buying for his biggest client so why do punters expect a trainer to do that for them! Punters are very important to the industry but you cannot expect the connections to kill themselves for punters. Best advice to punters study FORM and forget about info and rumours - that's the difference between casino's and racingm - you can make your own choice based on some work and effort without hoping for a machine to bring up your numbers so do the work youreslf it's far more rewarding than listening to a so called insider

you so right hawaii fuck the punters who are they anyway..when it comes to 1st timers and horses coming back from rests why should they know the well being of the horse..hong kong america and australia have barrier trials for unraced horses and horses coming back from rests so the fucking public are not kept in the dark, with your attitde i would rather go to the casino and many have..any dick can study form but their is no form on 1st timers

did you post your first time winner up here when it won the other day pirates if so you are a very kind soul when the public pay my training fees then they can have the info - i don't phone other owners and ask for info - if you are are worried about a first timer stay out - barrier trails are great - you can't get ten guys to a race meeting how many do you think you are going to get at trials and do you think the betting public would actually take note? as you may have noticed unters support English, french HK and other racing with a tab sheet(sometimes with less than that) I'm sorry but in this game an owner may be lukcy to only have one good strike on his horse why in hell's name should he share that with the world - if any dick can study form then why is it that everyone wants to know what the trainer/jockey thinks of his chances

I've learnt that its important that the owner gets the first punt on the horse. He deserves it after all not all cover their purchase and training fees.
Pirates why did you not give us info on your first timer ? Obviously you thought quiet highly of it and it won easily.

Sorry Pirates, but why should someone - including you - feel it's there right to know the well-being of a Horse?
The owners are already several grand behind due to all the costs involved, why should you be 'in the know?'
IF the owner once on, wants to share that info with some friends and/or family -that's entirely up to them - no?
As for barrier trails etc. What so you think that said well horse, can't hide such in a trail?
Come on mate - I hope that this is just a wind-up, as I really had you down as knowing the score.
Respectfully, Jim.

yes when asked about her chances i posted what i was told by the trainer..give the punters all the information they desire and let them make an educated choice based on form and the information...nothing worse than punters doing their money on horses who need runs badly etc...we all complain about stakes which is directly related to tote turnover so what better way of growing turnover by being totally transparent..

never a problem to comment after you have got on - i too have commented on my runner and warned people not to back him - if he had a realistic chance and i had got on then i would share that info - as to other guys sharing an admirable trait but not for me unless i've got on - i'm selfish which is exactly the essence of gambling - taking someone's money without having to work or steal for it!!!!

the example i always use is sun classiques first run in natal last year...unbeknown to many punters she was out of work due to her being in quarantine then the trip was aborted so she came to dbn..everybody at clwood knew she was way underprepared due to circumstances beyond the trainers control but she quite rightly on form was 5 to 10...uso and the useless natal papers never bothered to call the trainer and she ran unplaced for the pa but her stablemate won and saved the pots and p6...i know of 2 punters who spend plenty on pas that gave up the game then and there,,like i said this information must be forwarded to punters and they can then make a calculated decision
