I went to a Man United match at Old Trafford in 2001 and it cost me 25 pounds...
I went to a France versus Scotland rugby match at Stade de France in 2001 and it cost me 190 francs (face value of ticket was 125 francs)...after some haggling with a tout as the match was sold out...
I went to a Roma match at Stadio Olympico in 2001 and it cost me 40000 lira...
Times have changed and everything is more expensive as money has moved out of the hands of the majority and is excessively concentrated in the hands of a few...
I remember it was my chore to buy the bread daily and when I first did this task as a 5 year old, it cost about 7c for a 800g loaf of brown bread...it now costs R11,00 for a 700g loaf of brown bread...

Last year I paid £30 for a Scotland v Springbok ticket at Murrayfield. `This year for the same section of the ground its £70 for the All Blacks. I have settled for a £40 seat behind the goals high up so it will still be a goodish seat. The week before Scotland play Argentina and the prices are far cheaper. They still need to stick on the lights, pay the staff etc etc . I suppose that they want a full house for Argenetina. They will get a full house for the All Blacks even if they charge £100 a ticket.
