Pirates, fair points bud. But it won't help me! lol
But, all you need is one website. With one page per trainer or per race. Comments must be updated by 2pm the day before the race meeting. Prices to go up at noon. Stables, owners etc have 2 hours to take the early price if they want and then post. Also takes away much of the false markets which are currently created. Farking lazy journos, as you call them lol, (or bookies) can take the info from the site and then they don't have to make 50 calls and trainers etc aren't answering the same question from 3, or however many, different journos. As you say, rocket science need not be involved.

it is unrealistic to expect trainers or owners not to punt. they are after all human beings who enjoy a punt like all of us, as long they don't put them on steroids.....

Pirates, I agree with you on this one. I am sponsored by Winning Form and every day that we scratch for a meting here I get a call from them and I give them my thoughts on my runners and they print them. It takes 3 minutes if I have 6 runners so you can work it out with one runner. 20 trainers, 20 calls and possibly hour of time. Those could be printed in the papers on race mornings if there is space, pasted up in all TAB's on race day and put on the electronic media/ cell phones etc for those who can access it once it is available. It will not take long to work out which trainers are not being honest and can be spoken to for misleading the public. It would not worry me at all.

This would make sense, everyone would win but the bookies are the issue. The trainers can punt the night before on their horses at the best prices and then the public get the info in the morning. Once the trainers and connections have put their money down they have no incentive to withhold info but bookies do. An example was with Ramsden and The conglomerate. Him and connections put huge money on it which drove the price down from 16's to 8's and the info on his site gave the public the knowledge and the price started at 3's. Everyone won except the bookies which is the reason this will never happen. Bookies would lose out big time with perfect information.

Pirates 100% correct and i would love SA racing to go the same route as Hong Kong. Journo's are at the track for work, comprehensive feedback available, jockey & trainer cell phones & betting moves monitored.
I have said this many, many times... All first timers to have barrier trials and all horses returning from a rest of more than 60 days to have a public gallop.
The first point of the PE horse receiving and injection, as far as i know there are "natural" products that can be used to alleviate joint discomfort that are legal if i am not mistaken. Not saying that this was the case just offering an opinion.
My last point is that all Trainers should be transparent as the public cant back every horse in a race and the owners (I am one) cannot tell me that they have a 100% strike rate when the trainer says have a bet on your horse. In fact i do not like punting my own horses besides the customary 100 each way.
What everyone needs to realize is that the more transparent the Trainers & Jockeys are about a horses "well being/general condition" the more people will bet and feel that horse racing is transparent. The public can decide on what betting proposition the horse presents with information before them not after the fact nonsense that is happening currently.

south Africa must be the only country in the world that has the final fields available a full 5 days before the actual racemeeting takes place coupled this with the fact that the majority of horses are stabled at a few training centres there are absolutely zero excuses for every horses wellbeing etc been given to the punting public...the wellbeing of the horse is of the utmost importance and things like setbacks in training ahs injections came back from last run and we discovered got tongue over bit etc is the type of info the public want...the playing fields need to be level ..we don't want this type of info after the race when its to late...I would say 95 percent of trainers are very willing to offer this info in fact all your top trainers who have the majority of winners volunteer it ...the fact that we don't have barrier trials makes this all the more important for punters ..as I have said it aint rocket science its a mere matter of implementing it..im sure most would agree that the first call show on tellytrack is a lot more informative now with trainers comments

in every race there are 5 or 6 horses that are fancied to run well so the bookies cant price all of them up at 2 to 1 as they wont have any takers..the transparency will only lead to a more liquid market in fact and anyway have you tried to get on a horse antepost lately?

Problem is pirates who pays ?
Maybe 1% of the take out can go towards punter information ? And less paid in dividends
But no, we are asked to pay for Computaform etc etc
You can get most things free on the Internet if you look hard enough, so why should we pay for information that we have already paid for ?

Why not create two blocks in the race card where the trainer gives a rating out of 10 on the horses well-being and its chances ?

10 years 7 months agoim not with you on who pays as the the reporters are employed by the operators already plus traimers can give comments when they phone scratchings through or via email or sms etcBob Brogan wrote: Problem is pirates who pays ?

more worked involved than you think, not just a copy and paste job
plus the first time a trainers comment is brought up on a forum or social media they cry like fuck and threaten litigation
