For me a disappointing field for a Gr2. However, a comeback victory for THE HANGMAN following many excuses subsequent from his great Dingaans win??

This race should have been cancelled in my opinion. Or run way later.
This was really pushing it. As Allistar said through the speakers just before the race:

"We have to run this race! Therefore the horses will come out and go straight to the start".

The thunder and lightning struck the race track 5 min before the race. The grandstand was shaking... I don't understand, if they really think this race is so important why is it race 8 and is there really no way to move this race forward looking at the weather patern? You could see this weather coming.

Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. Heart of a Lion was prepped for this race, but was not a happy horse!

very true, it could have been rescheduled, maybe for earlier in the day, which wudnt have affected my E/W bet on Earl of Derby, the going wuda been soft either way, I just wanted it to be run when it came to race time (very selfish I know), coz my bet was based on condition so if it was pushed to another day I wuda been pissed off, I wud never have played EoD on a good track.. Fair on sum who made provision for the weather, unfair on others.. But I agree, the lightning and thunder was the big concern esp on the highveld, and made it very unsafe..
