Cellarmaster

Cellarmaster is one of the most talented horses that I have bred. He had scintillating juvenile form with three seconds from 3 starts (including 1.5L behind Soft Falling Rain and similar behind Valberg). He was entered in the SA Nursery, but went wrong and missed that race. I think it quite possible that he could have run 2nd to SFR there had he stayed sound.
Full marks to trainer Paul Peter and the connections for persevering and getting this fellow back to racing fitness. A very well deserved win yesterday. I can only hope that they can keep him sound and that he further rewards their patience.
I am opposed to the unique SA handicap rule which restricts an older maiden winner to MR 70. In this case, however, it gives the connections the opportunity to win his next start or two off very favorable ratings, and I will be happy for them if it turns out that way.
I think he ran to at least an MR 80 yesterday in a fast time, and he will be hard to oppose next time in a handicap.

Magic Peter, was a big run on his comeback from injury the time before, was very surprised he was 5/1 at one point
