I think Kimberley racing died with Peter Miller. A friend of mine had a few horses with him over the years and he always told me how much Peter put into the preparation of the tracks. On a few previous occasions when Kimberley was abandoned he mentioned the meeting would have taken place if Peter were still alive.

Somehow we manage to have the only dirt tracks in the world that are not regarded as "all weather"
They were planned to be!!!!!! (I remember Hawkins's words well) but didn't turn out that way.

What upset me is that these meetings are never rescheduled either where does this stake money go they decided in the middle of the night racing cannot go ahead ,how much effort gone into it? I believe the sun is out and I bet you by 12 that track would have been ok to race on .
Again NHRA dont even show any concern in last two months 3 meetings cancelled in December only two meetings why not at least increase the races to 12 for those two meetings as mentioned in this forum its so frustrating to be part of a industry whos operators dont know what they do and whose communication and PR sucks .
As Bob correctly state smaller stables will feel the knock even more and who is going to suffer ??the horses its upsetting that whoever can decide in the middle of the night that racing cannot go ahead word was good enough to cancell
