Gauteng Gambling Board - Appl. for Special Licence

Picked this up in today's Citizen

Hearing by the Gauteng Gambling Board in respect of Application for a Special Licence on Friday 5th December at 10h00 at 125 Corlett Drive, Bramley, Jhb.

"Applications for the Amendment of Bookmakers Licence"
Amendment of Betting World Ltd's Bookmaker Licence to relocate from Carnival City Casino, Boksburg to The Pavilion, Turffontein Race Course, 14 Turf Club Street, Turffontein, Johannesburg.

The following Questions arise :
1. Why only now after all these years.
2. Does at The Pavilion mean in the Pavilion area only. What about the Public area adjacent to the Pavilion area. Or is it only for the "Inner Circle".
3. What about the other Bookmakers.

Betting World (Pty) Ltd's Application for a Special Licence to operate at the Parade Ring, Turffontein Racecourse on race days.

The following Questions arise :

Very strange !

Why not allow ALL the Bookmakers back to the Race Courses ?

Betting World were downstairs next to the Ring - You will see the structure opposite the parade ring - They are now temporarily upstairs on the 2nd floor just go up the escalators - You will see a signboard on the ground floor telling you where the are Partially inside Calvin's Pub(Winners) Anybody can have a bet there without dress code or special badges and that pub often gets a string of trainers, owners and Jocks visiting without any airs and graces. If ever you are there ask if I'm around and I'll get you to buy me a drink or two :evil:
