Amazing ...when the polytrack was first introduced it was labeled "doomed to failure" and had no chance of succeeding by most , myself included, however it has been a resounding success and not a single acknowledgement from the earlier "experts" most of whom would have been quick to jump on the "i told you so" train had it not worked, so it's very hard to take those same detractors seriously, all of who seem to thrive on highlighting any negative that may present itself and blow it out of all proportion while ignoring or trivializing any positives, Greyville is and will remain SA's premier racecourse imo and things will keep getting better and continue to prove all the skeptics wrong...
Keep moaning but at least man up and admit your error when proven wrong...

Titch your definition of a resounding success falls way short of mine. The poly is perfect for a back up, 100% no argument.
It however lends itself to this complete illusion of grandeur, of mediocre performances and horses.
How many top horses even enter onto the poly ? So for its purpose it works fine, great. Does that mean turf racing must take a back seat to the poly as is the case ? or is it a great excuse for not maintaining the turf ?
Greyville will loose its status if the turf is not up to standard. Now that would be a crying shame and a huge loss.

Surely a course that can cater for all classes of horses is a prerequisite when striving to keep all owners happy Neigh??
As for mediocrity I certainly wouldn't mind owning the likes of Nisa's Love,Royal Colours, 32Squadron,German Lady etc but then add to that the fact that Greville has an alternative track to the turf should the weather not play ball which also does away with the over use of the Turf Track now that Clairwood has gone and the high % of Favorites that run consistently well on the polly..... surely this all adds up to a win/win scenario with a track for all seasons in the true sense of the word??

100 % Titch now you talking, as an alternative to the turf and not the other way round.

Perhaps all the detractors would prefer abandonment after abandonment? The poly is definitely not my favourite surface, but it definitely is my choice when abandonment is the alternate! On the one hand people squeal like girls about the state of the turf but then bitch and moan about the poly. Head cases.

Would have to agree nothing worse in racing if you have a horse in training and you can't get a run, I would be happy if they changed the meeting to the jumps.

This head case is not going to squeal like a girl anymore about the poly. The poly has its purpose and works 100 %. This head case is only going to squeal like a little girl about not being able to run my horses on the turf. Dave for 5 months plus I never had a choice but the poly, what must I say about not getting a run ?
Contrary to popular belief, I believe the poly is not conducive to teaching babies the right way to run and learn their trade. I believe they are done more harm than good, however the poly is fine for older horses.
I am an owner, choices, I had none !
OTA as a punter, I can understand you dont have empathy with my plight but then just maybe I am a squealing little girl with mental problems. ( where is that middle finger when you need one ? )

Neigh I do not own horses but do have empathy for your situation. As an owner you have the choice to run your horses where you like. If you believe poly is not good for certain horses then good for you but allow others who don't share your views to race. No middle fingers needed.

Neigh as an owner you have every right to feel aggrieved at having to foot the bills and not having any opportunity to run your horses but now the the turf track has had the time to be restored I'm sure that there will be a lot more turf racing and not only will your horses run but they will be competing on a top class surface...
