I know it is dangerous to compare times but when one takes into account that the races were run within 1,5 hours of each other and that the times put Ertijaal some 8 Lengths plus ahead of the Met field carrying 6 KG's more than he would have carried in the J&B must surely equate to him being very hard to beat had he taken his place in the big race.
Give everything but up!

But you guys are asuing that wroth a quicker run Met the result would have been different. I'm not sure, we cannot speculate.
Either way Ertijaal is a super horse but Futura is a champ until the other one wombs 3 gr1's.

Lengths behind tool shows that the entire Met field would have beaten only 2 horses in the Derby. Ridiculous.

obviously the early stages of the Met was run slower than the early stages of the 3 year old race, this does not mean that the 3 year olds would have beaten the winner of the Met, it just gives you an idea of how the races were run, Ertijaal obviously quickened off a fast run race and Futura must have had plenty in hand having sliced through the field off a slower run race which normally would favor the front runners, LTH never ran his true race

Both the Derby and the Met were reasonable results ..........LTK obviously below best (still only ever won at Turf) and the other 2 best rated ,were the exacta!
The Derby for me exposed the stamina of AoW...........travelled well enough till then IMO. Ertijaal's time is impressive against any measure!!!!!! but you have to ignore the comparative times that would give Arniston a MR of 118 :silly:

I think AoW is a top horse and will beat Ertijaal if they meet over 1600m again. I backed Ertijaal on Sat and believe that this horse is very, very special the problem is that he will leave us soon to race overseas and show the rest of the world how good he is.

Cold As Ice going to the UK with Haggas, there was meant to be a few others heading that way but not sure which ones
The De Kock yard always keep the cards close to their chest but before Saturday Majmu was the apple in their eys, so i would suspect that Majmu will still end up being better then Ertijaal
