Racing has really been giving some back lately
PHUMELELA GAMING ASSIST IN GROWING FUNDS FOR COMMUNITIES IN 2014
Hundreds of thousands of rands have been raised this year as part of Phumelela’s efforts to do good in addition to fulfilling the organisation’s corporate social responsibility. Phumelela Gaming has over the years offered its facilities to charity organisations in aid of giving back to the underprivileged. This charitable practice continued unabated in 2014.
To achieve this, the company has kept its business gates open to all charity concerns in need of resources to raise funds for their organisations. In giving back to the South African community this year, Phumelela Gaming offered enormous support and guidance to all fundraisers as well as a platform to raise funds. The practice used is charity race-day functions held on race-days countrywide.
Phumelela’s contribution to charity work includes availing its precinct to all fundraising organisation hoping to raise funds for their different benefactors.
Phumelela permits fundraisers to sell race names and advertising at hugely discounted rates to corporates, table bookings and allows them to hold auctions in order to generate sizable funds. Money raised at the charity raceday events are for the fulfilment of fundraisers’ missions.
In 2014 alone, Phumelela has helped raise substantial funds countrywide for different charities including local orphanages and schools, International Police Association, CANSA, SA Air Force, Highveld Horsecare Unit, National Horse Trust, Three Rivers Rotary and Equine Trusts to name a few.
Throughout the year, all interested organisation are welcome to make use of the world class racecourse facilities at Fairview Racecourse in Port Elizabeth, Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town and the much loved Turffontein Racecourse in south of Joburg to host their charity raceday.
All enquiries for hosting charity racedays on-course can be directed to the following Phumelela team – Kenilworth Racecourse: contact Micaela (021 700 1600) Fairview Racecourse: Karin Le Roux (041 372 1859) and Turffontein Racecourse: Khanya Langa (011 681 1899).
