"Group" RESULTS - 'Sunday' 20th April Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 2.46, and with being around 2.86 on arrival, getting bigger, then not coming back down anywhere near enough, we never see our lay price at any stage and so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well, so a good leave.......

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.1, but a non runner and 11.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.98. There was then another withdrawal and further 13.5% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.85. There was yet another withdrawal and further 5.4% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.8. The price was around 2.14 on arrival and although dropping, never dropped enough and so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well enough, so another good leave.......

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.28 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.28. The price then went for walk out to our own price of 2.625 and slightly beyond, so a chance for a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade went and won a battling finish, so yet another favourite goes in and the way it goes. Pleased of the drift and 'free' lay now though..........

The 4th runner we wanted 1.46, and with being around 1.78 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd after a battle, so a bit of a surprise and 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

The 5th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 22.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was around 2.06 on arrival and so we had a lay at around 2.06. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result..........

The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, and with drifting to around 3.5 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.3 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so now a chance for traders (builders all finished now) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was nailed on the line, so not good for the heart, but a good result...........

The 7th runner was a non runner, so on to the next runner......

The 8th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and getting shorter, we had a lay at 3.1 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 9th and final runner we wanted 2.7, but a non runner and 6.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.59. There was then another non runner and further 5.9% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.5. The price never came down anywhere near our lay price, so a race to avoid. The runner went and won and so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.......

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...................(3 from the first 3 (100%) went and won - 5 and from the 8 (62.5%) (1nr) in total - So we did well looking back)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to concede 0.5 of a target...............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 3rd runner, and then after clawing back a chunk to leave them needing less than 10% of the target, they went for recoup and target on their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 3.3, and a good result see them go 0.5 up. They then had their 4th lay (the 8th runner) at 3.1, and a poor result see them go 0.5 behind!. That's where they ended and so a little loss of half a target, but not a really poor result with too many winners again.......

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that only bought sheer relief..........5 runner builders then found themselves with just 4 potential lays left (the 7th now a non runner), so not enough for a strategy and so they end here at levels...........

4 runner builders then had their 1st lay (the 5th runner) at 2.06, and a good result see them get within 10% of their targets, and so they hit and walk.....

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.06. Result positive. Win £94

Total bank now £494 (and so with being within 10% of the target, it's always advised to take that and walk)

Overall result. Target hit.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

Then the ran out of enough potential lays left to start a strategy, so end it here.

Overall result. Level.

Traders won or break level on all their trades, so well played guys...

So a mixed bag for builders, with 4 runner players hitting, and 5 runner builders having to take the levels with running out of enough potential lays! However, with a very very tough start to the session with the first three winning, I'm sure we'll all agree that levels will suffice and to hit was a very good effort, so well played guys. Rollers had a battle, and not surprising with too many winners again, but they concede 0.5 of a target and so we'll accept that and return in the morning...

Morning.

'Great Leighs' finally gets underway this afternoon, and although it's all fascinating and good for the game, it's still tough to fathom the track condition, how it's been rolled, the draw, etc etc! All this will become more clearer as the months go by, but for the time being it's all a bit too much guess work to be as confident as we'd like before committing ourselves. However! I've had a good think, and as it can just as easy go against us, it can also go for us, so after weighing it all up I feel we have enough in regards to form etc to warrant having Great Leighs as part of our session today, and in the future, so we'll certainly learn plenty from today, but let's hope the form and all we can work around, holds up! best shut up and get on with it then.....

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows....

2.10 Great Leighs. TEMPLE OF THEBES (2.86)

Our price 7/4 (2.75) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If e see 2.46 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that a 'little' more emphasis has gone on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

2.30 Stratford. QUICKBEAM (2.5)

Our price 7/5 (2.4) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.1 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he likes to lead, or race very prominent in his races*

2.40 Great Leighs. ESTEEM MACHINE (2.16)

Our price 13/8 (2.625) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.32 or under. *Traders be aware, that although he has a few ways of racing, it wouldn't be any surprise to see him race prominent over this trip today, so worth bearing that in mind*

2.50 Wincanton. ALBINUS (1.7)

Our price 4/6 (1.67) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.46 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he hasn't led or raced very prominent, this would be a weak looking race in regards to his own form, therefore no surprise to see him race very prominent, or lead, by default*

3.05 Stratford. MINELLA TIPPERARY (2.64)

Our price 9/5 (2.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.5 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he has a few ways of running, it wouldn't be any surprise to see a prominent display this afternoon*

3.15 Great Leighs. BUSTER HYVONEN (3.25)

Our price 13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.

4.00 Wincanton. CONNAK (2.06)

Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

4.20 Great Leighs. ESCAPE ROUTE (3.2)

Our price13/5 (3.6) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.3 or under.

4.40 Stratford. YOU DO THE MATH (3.45)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 10:13am.

That's what we have to work on for today then. Never easy, and the addition of Great Leighs does make it that bit tougher with the element of guess work involved in their race make ups. Anyhow, all in all we have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon...
