2015 Met day moved to Durbanville- Press release
10 years 4 months ago
The Chief Officer of the Horseracing has informed the Media that a ‘thorough investigation’ has been launched into concerns of missing Hosepipe at Kenilworth on 21 January 2015.
The contents of the letter are quoted below:
“Horse dies due to no hosepipe” on 21 January 2015.
The allegations and concerns raised by concerned owners are the subject of a thorough investigation. The facts uncovered to date indicate that there has been a massive increase in lost Hosepipes at Kenilworth. Nonetheless, the investigation continues and a more detailed report will be made available once the investigation has been finalised.
Until further notice all WC race meeting will be held at Durbanville where hosepipes are still in abundance. This includes the 2015 Met day extravaganza.
We appreciate every ones understanding and patience at this present time.

Could not help myself.
Thought my press release was as outrageous as the thought that a horse would die at a Phumelela racecourse because staff could not find a hosepipe.

Not having a hosepipe available never killed the horse, but having one at hand might have stopped he horse from dying
