Aluminium Producer Pays Second Visit of Season to Meydan
Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) returns to Meydan Racecourse this Thursday, January 29 for a high-class Dubai World Cup Carnival card.
EGA is a regular feature of the Dubai World Cup Carnival and annually lends its name to one Racing at Meydan meeting and one Dubai World Cup Carnival meeting. This week EGA sponsors the 1800m Al Rashidiya as well as the 1600m Cape Verdi, a race for fillies and mares. Both contests are run on the Meydan turf and carry prize money of $200,000.
EGA, formerly known as DUBAL, is a jointly-held, equal-ownership company formed by the Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and the Investment Corporation of Dubai and comprises Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) and Emirates Aluminium (EMAL).
Also on the night will be the unveiling of two commemorative horse statues in honour of the 20th Dubai World Cup. These statues, depicting Almutawakel and Dubai Millennium, which are decorated in the colours of the winning owner from the 1999 and 2000 Dubai World Cups.

The combined DUBAL-EMAL portfolio comprises high purity, premium quality cast aluminium products in three main forms: high purity and foundry re-melt products for electronics and aerospace, and automotive applications respectively; rolled products (for packaging, lithographic sheets and the automotive Industry); and billets for extrusion and forging (for construction, industrial and transportation processes).Over 350 customers are served in almost 70 countries worldwide, predominantly in the Asia, Europe, the MENA region, and the Americas.
Racing returns to Meydan Racecourse on Saturday afternoon, January 31 and Dubai Racing Club is offering a two for one deal on tickets to Silks and Tiered Restaurant. Prices start at AED325 and AED375 respectively. Racing starts at 3pm and gates open at 130pm.
