Polytrack Form

Interesting that there have been various opinions and views on "Poly" racing ,some of which have been expressed on the forum.
The one thing that seems to be true though,is that the results are, to date ,the most consistent of any surface.
Results indicate that the fancied /form horses have become the norm at Greyville and PE,on the Poly and those bomb (PA particularly) results are few and far between on the surface!
Does anybody keep stats on these things? Would make interesting reading I think!

Re: Polytrack Form
10 years 3 months agovery confusing comment considering you stated on another thread that most trainers cannot get their horses to run 2 races alike these days or something to that effect...also todays pick 6 and jackpot dividends wouldn't agree with the above either....carryover forp6 and 36k for pot...there is no doubt in my mind that a huge percentage of horses prefer one surface to another and separate ratings should be done but I do my own hcapping so I love the current situationrob faux wrote: Interesting that there have been various opinions and views on "Poly" racing ,some of which have been expressed on the forum.

Not most ,many....... and if it is less prevalent on the Poly ,that may be a pointer, to the more consistent surface.
Your point about todays J'pot and Pick 6 is also interesting
J'pot : Race4-won by a horse rated 50 with a previous rating of 68
Race5--won by a horse rated 50 and previously 70
Race6 -Won by a horse rated 63 and previously 72
Race8-won by a horse rated 47 and previously 73
Could the surface help some horses to recapture their true ability perhaps?
This was also pointed out in previous posts,(about a month before the new Computaform included the detail) and suggested they should be included as exotic roughies, but you obviously select the posts that suit you most!

you pretty predictable rob as when you have a winning day you full of praise but when you lose instead of looking in the mirror and blaming yourself its the authorities who get the blame especially the nhra..

How does that apply to this discussion about the results on the Polytrack???
I do not advertise my good or bad days ,as a rule ,so I find your comments strange.
I consistently state that I would like to see stricter regulation - that is not dependant on winning or losing, but relates to the image in the eyes of the public and prospective newbies!
I certainly don't think I am in the habit of blaming all and sundry for losing bets(of course there is the odd unfortunate ride, but that's part and parcel!)
I see that you have decided that I should be your new whipping boy on the site..........if so have fun............many have had their turn!

It would be nice to see some statistics on the Greyville Poly results, I have been to numerous Friday night meetings and would have to agree with Rob that results are consistently favourable, with very few "bombs".
I also noticed that "older horses" seem to perform much better on this surface.

Re: Polytrack Form
10 years 3 months agothe much smaller fields and the plenty odds on shots especially in maiden plates also increase the number of favourites winning..many of these horses are virtually unbackable ...many trainers are reluctant to run their horses from draws bigger than 6 so you get fields that have one or 2 horses with form and the rest have no form and are running for third place,,,,you will find that the maiden plates at greyville poly are far weaker than the maidens on the grassSealegs wrote: It would be nice to see some statistics on the Greyville Poly results, I have been to numerous Friday night meetings and would have to agree with Rob that results are consistently favourable, with very few "bombs".

Tomorrow the top rated Maidens (colts and geldings) on turf are both 71............the top rated maiden(colts and geldings ) on Poly is 73!!!
Do you make this sh!t up as you go along!

its common knowledge that you will rather run a horse up the straight from any draw than around the turn over 1200 and 1000m or don't you know by now that the strongest maiden fields were always at clairwood and now at scotsville ..where would you run over 1600m at scotsville or at greyville where they jump on the bend ,,,at greyville you are always on the bend whereas scotsville you aren't ,,,maybe you know more than the trainers who scratched their horses yesterday
