Steady rain on the coast...don't know about 70km inland...

How much rain can Scottsville take before protests arise ??

this inside track must have a drainage problem as the sahra website says at 7.30am today that only 5mm of rain in the last 24hrs and 15mm in the last 7 days...the pen sits at 25 and the going is good to soft...I was around the pmb area during the week and there was extreme heat so how it sits at 25 is beyond me...

Very little brainpower went into the make up of this Scottsville card.
I recall not so long ago the esteemed Mr Hawkins stating that a race containing a majority of unraced two year olds should not,if possible, form part of the PA,JP or Pick 6.
Race 2 could easily have been swopped with Race 1.

I think the reason for the planning is that a number of these condition type races have a huge number of scratchings after the card has been done. Now with it as the first race, if there are too many scratchings they can abandon the race without turning the pa into a 6 race pa. Maybe a better way would be to run the race anyway but reduce the stakes each time a horse is scratched. It is something that needs to be discussed with the operators. Just throwing money away if you pay out the normal stake in a 3/4 horse race. It needs some serious thought.

why must owners of better horses suffer because the operator cannot fill the field up...if you advertise a race then the race must be run and the stakes advertised be paid out ..we all know why fields for better class horses are not filled up in this province

my thoughts exactly .................absolutely no consideration for the punter in the thought process! A shocking 1st leg of the PA .
Normally my main investment and will not take one today ........why should I have to guess!
Alienating customers seems to be a deliberate strategy.
