Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words. The museum is a side-project of the Sporting Post, so credit is due to the whole team (although any typos are probably my fault !).

In researching information for articles for the paper, we found it a pretty manual job trying to lay our hands on old racing facts and figures. While there is a treasure trove of printed information (old SA Racehorses, Winner's Circle, SA Bloodstock Reviews, etc), it's tough to access as very little of it has been digitised. Also a lot of the old photographic and film material is difficult to find (as Aidan Lithgow has also found in doing his Legends of the Turf series), and it's a fairly time-consuming process.

We started thinking 'wouldn't it be great to have an easily accessible on-line resource dedicated to local racing' and then we figured we might not be the only ones interested in a resource like that. As we have collected a fair amount of material between us over the years, we started putting something together.

It's very much a work in progress (hence not a lot available just yet and a fair bit of editing to be done), so please bear with us. However, we're chipping away and will keep improving / adding on as time allows, so please feel free to browse, comment and contribute :)
