If jockeys of equal abilities are riding tempest and unconditional I think it's quite close with unconditional winning. The jockeys are not equal however and Races like this is how hewitson shows he's the best work rider in the country, by winning on a horse that isn't the best. 11 wins in the last 30 is outrageously good when you consider he has been given a couple 50/1 donkeys in there in that work riders day and doesn't pick his rides of choice in each race. He's not giving up a day or two of school traveling up to come second.

Interesting albeit biased view. Lets talk facts. Wide draws are killers on the inside track over most distances particularly the shorter races. The draw is a huge factor in this race of that there can be no argument and this is why I make Unconditional my pick. I will not argue about the merits of who is the better rider, however there is one interesting fact here and that is Mabaya has won on the inside track and Hewitson hasn't. In my opinion there will be more natural improvement coming from Unconditional and that is why this strengthens my conviction that this will be the winner. I have known to be wrong before. Judging by the bullish comments about the Tarry horse, I am waiting for the drift on Unconditional and will then climb in.
A final note - I think Hewitson matriculated last year.

He is in Matric this year, I have had the pleasure of spending time with him and can tell you that he is a very well mannered and knowledgeable boy. you get the feeling that he is keen to learn and improve, spends his time studying the form. He was up a few weeks ago riding work all over and on race days was giving trainers a hand saddling up runners. I can tell you that he is a good judge of work

Goodluck over the air, I wish you all the best may the best horse/jockey combo win. Hewitson is still in matric though of that I am sure but not really a big issue in the greater schemes of this argument. I am bisased yes, this kid has been so prfitable for me this year
