The 2nd race looks an above average Maiden, if they go too fast Muirfield might go close (might need further imo )

On first look you would think so, but Unconditional had the outside draw to help that day and Tempest ( her danger on Tuesday ) seen plenty of daylight and might get closer with a confident rider on top

Bob Tempest has a wide draw and on the inside track will need plenty of luck to overcome that. I also think that the natural improvement over the distance will favour Unconditional. That's the theory anyway!

Think the inside track will suit Tempest more, Unconditional looked out paced a bit up the straight track

Bob don't be casting doubt into my bet of the year now son :dry: :dry: :dry: I suppose racing is about opinion after all. To me you may be right but imvho the increase in distance, the better draw, the natural improvement that will come with the experience all add up. I also believe that the youngster on the Tarry horse will be scrubbing its ears off to overcome the draw and that may count against the horse in the last 200.The box exacta looks a certainty I can't find anything else in the field to trouble the top 2.

TEMPEST was only 2,75 lengths behind OFF THE MARK, UNCONDITIONAL ran on smartly for a credible 2nd beating TEMPEST (who ran 3rd) her saddle slipped on that occasion and no doubt she would have finished much closer. Top jockey/trainer combo on TEMPEST and although drawn wide will be finishing like a rocket!

On paper UNCONDITIONAL looks the absolute certainty BUT that form line behind OFF THE MARK was mighty impressive. I do believe that the exacta could be the right bet here but I also believe TARRY will be ready to strike with TEMPEST.

My prediction for what it's worth TEMPEST by three... Doubles with TARRY/KHUMALO in the last.

My early selections...

Race 1 : TEMPEST

Race 2 : TO LIFE - but with reservations... Will probably sit out

Race 3 : ROCK OF BELINDA - could be a quick double for trainer/jockey but I'm not holding my breath.

Race 4 : IBIZA to flash home, nice price and a big runner IMO. DOWN UNDER been disappointing and over more ground will probably follow suite.

Race 5 : DE KOCK has five runners here :huh: must all have place chances - Slight preference for DREAM GALAXY but FIRE WHEEL also appeals. Boxed exacta and swingers.

Race 6 : Plenty with chances here, don't let the betting fool you with MASTER SWITCH, look closely :blink: It's much more open than the betting suggests, no doubt MASTER SWITCH will have improved but if you look at MAC DE LAGO, almost 4 seconds faster over the 1600m, GOLD BANK almost 5 seconds faster over the 1800m, MS just not for me, will not form part of my exotics.

Race 7 : SISTERS OF MERCY - To all the owners, I hope she does you proud!!! very nice price - eachway selection probably the safer option but I really like SOM as my best value bet for the day.

Race 8 : SEVENTH HEART to complete a TARRY double/treble or maybe quad with TEMPEST in the first and others to follow.
