A couple of expensive purchases running today, the Var in the second race is listed as a 3 mil purchase. Excited to see how Kannemeyer's Real Princess goes in the last with Delpech up, 2.7 mil purchase. Decent day of racing ahead.

I think if Roys Gul Ga settles it will be difficult to beat, the way it ran on debut way very eye catching

E/W double Fire The Rocket x Sacred Jewel

R6 There are a few that have the potential to surprise (for me primarily Victoria's Love and Tonto) but if not then it looks like a battle between the top three in the market. There are some lines which make it look like it will be a tight contest between them but, when directly competing against each other over this c/d, Fire The Rocket does look to have Threshold held. The latter beat Here We Are three runs back over c/d and is better off at the weights but the latter was returning from a 19 week rest and thus was perhaps not fully tuned up. Albeit on the Poly, lto HWA was 2l in front of Threshold but there is now a 5kg swing in Threshold's favour and I think he has a definite preference for grass. Both FTR and Threshold appear to have a preference for some give in the ground and HWA does not seem to have a big preference. I originally went with HWA but now I am thinking she may well finish 3rd of the three lol... the more I look, the more I think Fire The Rocket is the most likely... FTR x Threshold x HWA

R7 Sacred Jewel's recent form on the poly is a slight concern but penultimate on the turf was a decent effort and has won both efforts over c/d as well as her only run in "wet" conditions. Plenty of others have chances, the biggest of whom for me is Nitro Nori who if, possibly a big if though, bringing his recent poly form to the turf would have a big chance. One at a price worthy of a small e/w imo is Friar Tuck who is somewhat inconsistent these days but again, penultimate effort makes him worth a small nibble here.
