Tipping is it just a town in China ?

I have a question to ask for all you fellow forum folks.

A mate and myself has recently been going to the course together he is fairly new to Racing only been punting for about just over a year. and well he is adamant in subscribing to one of these Tipsters Services where you pay X amount for Y information.

I'm curious is this a viable service to subscribe to. My arguement with my mate is that the information given is not always 100s.. (as I feel that same with the Racing Forms and Tv Presenters and all other tipping info) that if every ones giving the accurate information sure that would effect the pools and such things. what with every tom dick and his aunt taking the same Exotics and stuff.. Wat are your views.. do you folks believe the information they hand out be it free or not is valid and should be taken gospel. ?

Problem with most paying services they all cover their backs by tipping ludicrous pick6 perms or jackpots and grabbing a big one now and then( a blind donkey could do the same) then claim they are the best in the business.

It`s entirely upto your mate,if hes only in it for a bit fun and doesnt want to take the time to study etc, he should just pic a paper or website tipster like monty from winningform or blah blah from computaform and follow them blind, they are far better cheaper than any the subscription tipsters

That's my argument with him.. as you say.. "their backs by tipping ludicrous pick6 perms or jackpots and grabbing a big one now and then( a blind donkey could do the same) then claim they are the best in the business."

Where would someone who is a "professional Tipster" go and give out the good Exotics which in turn will be lowered once everyone takes it and wins. What gets me is everyone got the same information (form wise and such) yet i hardly see any Winningform or Computaform Selection remotely similar.

i think there are many ways to look at this.....

1: time constraints means some people use a tipster to study for them and provide a form synopsis (this works very well in sports betting)
2: studying form alone will never result in anyone showing long term profits so if a "tipster" is connected and provides some edge then its worth it and one should "spot" the edge
3: ratings (like loopy/winningform etc) these are NOT tipsters, they apply mathematical formulas and rules to separate horses based on ratings
4:any information provider should be clear on his philosophy , claiming profits by adding in huge exotic dividends are not cool
5: the industry is worth billions.......so there must be a demand....
