Have just posted on another thread 4 races with under 7 entered
Sure there was a press release the other day saying from the 1st of april that the 11am cut of would be strictly adhered to?

Pirates I think that the examples you give are different and we need to be fair. In Unparalled's race there was a full field. In this KZN race there are only 4 and if left the race will be abandoned. Whilst I believe the conditioner of Unparalleled deserved to get a call and that the punting fraternity deserved to have the horse in the race, that race was always going to be run. The question that should be asked is why do KZN trainers not support this Gr3 event?

10 years 2 months agoota I cant answer for natal trainers but throughout the world we see group races run with 4 or 5 runners in my opinion if you advertise a race in the race program be it a maiden plate or a group race then you must be obligated to run the race ..its very clear that the programming is up to shit and clearly the Gauteng season has caught the attention of the trainers countrywide as a lot of races are duplicated in natal and Gauteng so therefore you have a problemstraight away..the Gauteng season runs till the end of april and years ago it ran to the end of march..this has had a massive affect on the natal season as horses need breaks in between racesOver the Air wrote: Pirates I think that the examples you give are different and we need to be fair. From the sportingpost, sure there will be more entries than the 73
Despite it being incumbent on trainers to finalise their Declarations by the advertised closing time in terms of the Racing Operators’ Conditions and the Rules, some trainers persist with failing to declare on time or call a few minutes prior to closing and finalise their declarations well after the advertised closing time, with adverse implications as recently witnessed.
To prevent further occurrences of a similar nature, the NRB is left with no alternative but to enforce a system cut off at the advertised closing time with effect from 4 May 2015.
In other words “the system will AUTOMATICALLY shut down at the declaration deadline times applicable with NO HUMAN INTERVENTION possible thereafter.” This entails that if a trainer has 10 entries and by closing time only finalized 3 declarations and the system cuts off, the balance of the 7 entries will be declared as did not call on time and subject to elimination.
Excuses such as “bad line” or slow operator will not be accepted.
The system time will be checked daily so there can be no disputes in that regard.
Further, ‘did not call horses’ may be subject to being withdrawn from the field by the NRB for delaying or preventing the timely finalization of fields. There will be NO refunds on horses declared as did not call even if they are eliminated or withdrawn.
The imposition of the “automatic cut off system” places an onus on the trainer to allow sufficient time to finalize declarations taking into account external factors and excuses.

"Why do KZN trainers not support this Gr3 event?" Why do KZN OWNERS not support this event?
Have just read on a previous blog their compaining abt less races.

OTA is right. If the field is full you were left out if you didn't call. A condition/rule is that the operators reserve the right to re open acceptances if the fields are small. It happens every day all around the country. I don't see the problem. :S

I notice another juvenile race abandoned on the 10th ,I think weve had more juvenile races abandoned than actually run..the cape and natal cant seem to get fields filled but pe and Gauteng do in fact Gauteng often have reserve runners for maiden juvenile races where they have 16 runners already...would be very interesting to have a look at the horse population per province and which category they fall in a sfar as sex dist age and mr etc
