Australia: Day one of The Championships, Sydney's new and richly-endowed racing festival, has been postponed until Monday as wet weather left the course at Randwick unsafe.

Saturday's card, which was due to feature three Group 1s including the BMW Australian Derby and Darley T J Smith Stakes, has been transferred with all scratchings being reinstated.
Racing NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy said: "With the significant amount of rain that has fallen we couldn't be confident due to the visibility for jockeys in the rain, and the effect that the rain would have had on the track."
Australian Turf Club chief executive officer Darren Pearce added: "Likely visibility problems and persistent rain forecast for the rest of the day was of too much concern in regard to jockey safety."
