"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Monday 28th April Workings..

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows........

The 1st runner we wanted 3.5, and when Betfair got back up and running, the price was 3.5 and getting lower and lower under big support, so we had a lay at 3.5 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so gamble foiled and a good result.......

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.5, but an important non runner and 19.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.2. There was then another withdrawal and further 4.2% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.15. Then yet another important non runner, and further 24.2% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 1.87. The price was around 1.47 on arrival and shortening further still, so we had a lay at 1.47 max. The lay went off in the lead looking good, but then made one 'slight' mistake, was then headed, and lost interest despite strong urgings form the jock! so a strange effort, but a good result...........

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.48 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.48. The lay looked in trouble a couple of times, but a hard ride from Ryan Moore see him hold off the challengers to win, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........

The 4th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being a well supported 2.18 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.18. The lay looked in trouble off the final bend, but another hard Ryan Moore ride got the lay up on the line, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........

The 5th runner we wanted 3.5, but a non runner and 13.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.17 (3.2 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.65 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd after a battling finish, so heart attack saved, but 'one that got away in hindsight'........

The 6th runner was a non runner, so on to the next.....

The 7th runner we wanted 2.6, but a non runner and 11.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.41 (2.42 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 2.58 on arrival and only got bigger and bigger, so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was well beaten, so the drift more than justified, and beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! early traders happy though.........

The 8th and final runner we wanted 3.45, but a non runner and 5.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.31. There was then another non runner and further 10.9% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 3.06. The price was around 2.8 on arrival and getting shorter, so we had a lay at around 2.8 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...................(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won - so a tricky start (especially for rollers), mixed with those annoying drifters, but we did a decent enough job)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Finished Levels.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner)...................They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 3rd runner, and after a poor start laying a couple of winners, they went to what was to be their 3rd and final lay (the 8th runner) where they clawed a bit back to go down a tiny bit over 1 target at the very worst, and so they finish levels on the session......

'Bank builder' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 3.5 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.47 max, and a good result see them hit their targets.....

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 3.5 max. Result positive. Win £40

Total bank £440

Overall result. Target hit.

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys...

So builders took on a couple of early gambles and won them both to hit, so well played guys. Rollers went one up, but then gave it back after a tough battle on their second strategy/target, so a bit frustrating, but that's the game and they look ahead to this evening......Speak soon...

Morning.

Betfair are doing one of their 'infamous' upgrades this morning - you know the ones, the ones where they go offline for a few hours and then return as if nothing's happened?? Anyhow, we will have to go without the main market influence this morning. I:E early drifts and gambles on those unexposed races, and pay more attention to the smaller markets, and of course our own workings on form etc etc etc. Anyhow, best get on with it....

The races, runners, and prices, to work around for this afternoon then, as follows......

2.00 Yarmouth. MUKHBER (??)

Our price 14/5 (3.8) and so we'll lay up to 3.5 max.

2.10 Towcester. LEARNING THE BLUES (??)

Our price 9/5 (2.8) and so we'll lay up to 2.5 max.

2.20 Lingfield. NAWAMEES (??)

Our price 9/5, and so we'll lay up to 2.5 max.

2.50 Lingfield. MAGHYA (??)

Our price 13/8 (2.625) and so we'll lay up to 2.32 max.

3.00 Yarmouth. MAGNITUDE (??)

Our price 14/5 (3.8) and so we'll lay up to 3.5 max.

3.10 Towcester. BORMO (??)

Our price 4/5 (1.8), and so we'll lay at anything up to 1.6 max.

4.30 Yarmouth. GREYFRIARS ABBEY (??)

Our price 19/10 (2.9) and so we'll lay at anything up to 2.6 max.

5.00 Yarmouth. TOP SEED (??)

Our price 11/4 (3.75) and so we'll lay at anything up to 3.45 max.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:55am.

That's our work for this afternoon then. Enough to keep us intrigued, and enough ammunition to work with to warrant going into battle. Discipline to the maximum then, and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings......
