R1 Uttoxeter Bryden Boy. Robbie Rabbit has the best form and deserves to be favourite (although not odds on in my book). He is a very hard ride, however, and invariably hits a flat spot in his races (which is probably why he is still a maiden). The selection has been improving steadily in recent runs and will have no problems with tonight's trip and soft ground. Has a bit to find with the favourite on official ratings, but I'm not convinced Robbie Rabbit will run to his official mark and, if he doesn't, Bryden Boy will pick up the pieces. 4/1 a very fair price win or E/W.

R2 Uttoxeter Bobble Emerald. Despite the old adage, backing the outsider of three is not a way to make money. This race, however, might be an exception. The ground will be really testing at Uttoxeter tonight and neither of the selection's opponents will be suited by that. Bobble Emerald showed promise in two bumpers on softish ground and ran well for a long way on his hurdling debut after a long break. Today's shorter trip should suit and he can give this a right good go from the front and hopefully break the stamina of the other two in the testing conditions. 7/2 is a big price - he will be shorter come post time.
