"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Thursday 1st May Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....

The 1st runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.5 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond (hit odds on), we had a lay at 2.32 max. The lay went and won a close finish by about 3 inches, so frustrating, but the way it goes........

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.34 on arrival and only getting slightly bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well, so a good leave........

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 4.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.14. The price was around 1.81 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 1.81 max. The lay was nailed late as the weights kicked in, and the jockey was caught napping to be fair! so a good result........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 2.9% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.23 (3.25 nearest exchange price). The price was a well supported 2.54 on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.54. The lay was nicely beaten and so a good result........

The 5th runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 3.95 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won well, so a nice priced winner (returned 7/2 sp), but more importantly a good leave...........

The 6th runner we wanted 2.94, but a non runner and 13% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.69. The price was a well supported 2.06 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 2.06 max. The lay went and won a close battling finish, so frustrating, but the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it...........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.94, but a non runner and 11.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.72. The price was a well supported 2.04 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at around 2.04 max. The lay had to work hard, but got the win after a close battling finish, so the way it goes. Traders got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 10.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.19 (2.2 nearest exchange price). The price was around 2.18 and slightly shorter on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.18 max. The lay went and won, so the way it goes, but only traders playing now, and with them easily getting their trade back prices in running, they got away with it..........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 2.3 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at around 2.3 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result.......

The 10th and final runner we wanted 1.7, but a non runner and 7.1% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 1.65. The price was around 1.77 on arrival, so with being a bit high, over 20 minutes away, and only a tiny bit of trading left on offer - I'm off for a bite to eat before the evening session...

'VERY' WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.....................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - then 6 won from the first 8 (75%) - and so ultra tough, but pleased to say we came through to get the wages, which was a terrific effort. Well played guys.)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 0.4 of a target at worst...Although a target was easily achievable with gaining those slightly better prices........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a poor start, they then bobbed and weaved their way through far too many winners, and ended up winning 0.4 of a target at the very worst after their 5th lay (the 7th runner). I am aware that a target was easily achievable with gaining slightly better prices, but the results mail to average/worst scenario as always....

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.32 max, but a poor result see them go behind early..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 1.81 max, and a good result see them back level.............They then had their 3rd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.54, and a good result see 4 runner builders hit their targets.......

5 runner builders needed a tiny bit more (at the very worst - slightly better prices gained and they'd have hit too!), and so they went to their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 2.06 max, but a poor result see them give a little back.........They then went to their 5th and final lay (the 7th runner) at 2.04 max, but another poor result see them give a bit more back, and end the session winning 0.4 of a target at the very worst. I am aware a target was achievable with slightly better prices, but the results mail always to the average/worst scenario....

I am aware that a target was easily achievable with gaining slightly better prices, but the results mail always to the average/worst scenario.

Traders had to concede a little on the 1st runner at 2.32 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they end around levels, or losing a very little, which is a good result looking back with all those winners...

So a cracking effort guys, as far too many winners again to bob and weave through, but we all played a blinder and got the wages! So great stuff and speak soon..........
