If it is the sand, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more trainers do the same. You can't shirk responsibility and blame "horsemen" and expect people to simply take it. Not saying that will happen but, as Dean says, it might be interesting...

Surely they should have suspended sand racing until they were reasonably certain that their "band aid" fix would work - seems to have been a very quick simple solution (Ploughing the sand) and to attempt to race on it within a week of the disaster would seem to be very risky. It suggests,however,that they know exactly what failed to be done last Tuesday.
If it fails to address the problem adequately tmorrow, it will really hit the fan.

But as I understand it, there will be some gallops tomorrow morning at around 9 am - so that should determine where we race ?

Surely it could have been prepared as if racing is today to make sure it is properly prepared for a change-No faith and salute Bradly for making the statement and withdrawel giving the reason as ,unsafe.

I spoke to people that got experience of sandtracks and if it was unsafe last Thursday there is NO way it can be safe by tomorrow,anyway I am not the most objective person at the moment.

Not an ideal solution if they forced to move to turf,as they will be racing sand ratings on turf again (suits me .........my best returns this year have been on those days)
I think,however ,that running off incorrect MR is, technically, a breach of NHA rules!

Study for the sand, but star the turf with a chance...

Hearing 70/30 in favour of it going ahead on sand atm...

But its going to come down to the jocks again,and the senior jocks are not keen on sand racing, it`s too much hard work seemingly

I have to say that I hope the meeting goes ahead on sand......in the past there have been some handicap blinders when they have moved but can't find too many stand out's if they change tmorrow.
Looks like a reasonable sand meeting though........but , are they doing something new and therefore the surface will not be consistent with recent form??
I think we might have to be a bit cautious!

They should give up on the Vaal Sand and put in a Polytrack, either in place of Vaal Sand or Turffontein inside Track IMO
