Colin, I actually like Fire Master to win that race.

Quick browse through the card

Fancy the "KING" to ride a treble on his 1st 3 mounts.
The best horse doesn't always win the race.

Dashing, I agree with you in races 3, Lord Marshal, and 4, Petty Officer. See there has been some money for Khumalo's mount, Chisanyama, in the second 10/1 into 3/1. I would respect that money considering Khumalo is chasing a jockey title, and if the stable really felt strong about it's winning chances, they may have engaged Marcus when you consider who owns the horse. Besides, the King and Anglet have walked from 22/10 to 3/1 in the second, think you'll get an even bigger price come race time.

Maybe Dutch the two in the second onto races 3 and 4, final prices will be the same - just a thought.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

More rain forecast until midday...going should at least be
yielding.Emerald rose should win the first in a canter .

A tip ! As the going gets heavier the 4kg claiming apprentices become deadly. 4kg's in the slush makes a huge difference compared to good going and a quick track.

In the UK a 4kg appie, when a trainer finds a good one the rider is looked after and not allowed to take outside rides...He usually serves out his claim slowly riding for mostly his boss and a few others... does that happen in SA?

OK it might be a long boring apprenticeship but by the end of their training the jockeys can ride to instructions
