I fancied ERNIE in the 3rd big time before I knew about the rain.

How's the betting for R7. Despite the weight, still believe Lanner Falcon is the one to beat. Hypothetically, stick Cold As Ice into this race and how would they bet then? If you look at the various runners in this race who ran against CAI then look at those who ran against Lanner Falcon, you'll see Lanner Falcon should be the obvious choice. If the going is soft to heavy, she has performed well beyond 1200m and has won once in the wet.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Looking at its last run Moonsong Magic will be hard to beat with the extra 200 metres.

Raining steadily. Been raining this whole week, going to be very very soft if they even run.

This first race .
If the going is soft then Kings Kitten could enjoy it.if it's the same sire that Haggas's trained in uk(kings apostle) then that was sired by kings best who liked cut.
Worth a rand at 25/1,1/4 odds two places.

R4 Wary of the conditions with Petty Officer, preference is for Black Kitten but a case could be made for all and I have had a very small nibble on True Asset also.
R5 Based on the last time they met this one is wide open. Moonsong Magic raced 3 wide and finished well but at least had a clear passage. Both Cat And The Moon and Crystal Cavern were poorly away and stuck at the back of the field, both did not have the easiest of passages, CT probably the worse affected of the two, but both also came on strong at the end, CC being eased up late as well as were a couple of others who finished close up. The latter two mentioned also have proven form in these conditions while MM is yet to be tested. Plenty others in with a shout too, at the prices I opted for an e/w on CC.
R6 Night In Seattle would be competitive on good ground but also has a decent record in these conditions. Given the ground, Ramsden's "second string" Catkin might be worth a small e/w.
R7 Some big weights on potentially very wet terrain. I have thus chanced Fear Not. In the conditions The Witch Doctor might be a big price but might also might just be totally out of form. Lielums is another on whom I have had a small e/w
R8 Olympic Airways was heavily supported on debut and has not run badly since, excuses lto also. May be ready to start justifying the initial market confidence.
Be(s)t of luck to all
