I am seeing a very shrewd MdK suddenly getting weight from the "form" 3yr olds and Ertijaal setting it's own suitable pace and stealing it cosily ??? :woohoo:

Also think the slower they go the better for the fancied runners
Ertijaal , Majmu , Futura all have a fantastic turn of foot

Yes ,re-rated using the conglomerate as the line horse .............Ertijaal (Who MdK had no hesitation taking to Cape Town to take on Act of War)suddenly well weighted with every talked about 3yr old, except Legal Eagle who benefitted most I guess!

I think Tamaanee very lucky to still be as high as 16 - beaten all ends up on the weekend and even off her current rating 105 (too high imo) will still be 1.5 kg's under sufferance.
Ertijaal for me was beaten fair and square on Saturday - yes he does now receive 1.5 kg's from French Navy which in theory puts them very close together - both however (according to their trainers) 'did not quite get home in the Derby (and Erijaal gave me the impression that he also not quite got there on Saturday) - fact remains both of these were beaten convincingly by Legal Eagle in the Derby. Also, for me all of Ertijaal, French Navy and The Conglomerate wear not being done any favors by the handicapper - I still have Ertijaal at 106, which would make him come in under sufferance as well - so bottom line, of the 3 yr olds I am in Legal Eagle's camp.
Of the older horses, Futura, Legislate (can't discount a horse on one poor run) and Wyllie Hall stand out - and Wyllie Hall strictly at the weights (if compared to last year's July) looks a good thing - question is of course how much Legislate and Futura have improved since - and Futura just gives one that feeling of invincibility.
Majmu imo too high in the ratings - excuses or not, was beaten by Wyllie Hall and is going to be worse off at the weights with that one; The Conglomerate (like Tamaanee) even off his rating of 108 (too high imo) will come in 1 kg under sufferance, so ..........
Hard to compare the 3 yr old colts to the older horses, but it just seems that Legal Eagle is too close in the weights to experienced campaigners like Wyllie Hall, so I'm saying the trifecta will lie between Futura, Legislate and Wyllie Hall, with Legal Eagle making up the quartet.
Best roughie imo is Gold Onyx, ran close to Futura in the Met and is going to be better off at the weights here - not impossible for him to find a place - also Tellina falls into that 'place value' category imo

Was a reason given for Ertijaal's scratching?
