Now thats what you call July trials
Legislate showed he was back and will be a runner if allowed to run ..
Futura was being prepped and if that was a prep he will take some beating
Punta put up the most sparkling trial ive seen for a long time, and has the pace and stamina to go very close
Kocha doesnt stay
Helerberg not good enough
please add

Pretty much what you said Bob.
Would add that Willow magic' s run was not a fluke,. Tarry explained that he thought he would need a mile and his thinking in entering the sprints. So one to watch.
God knows how good those 2 year olds are but another Jooste one to watch for sure.
Investec Derby was very good. 2 top horses .
probably watch the first triple crown winner in ages later on tonight
July picture more clear in some ways but more Murky in others. Will Legislate run? Trial winner cannot be written off despite not being as classy as some...that was impressive and his form is solid enough that with a good run he could be dangerous

July is rigged. Board is like FIFA
, How can No Worries move up the log from the previous log. . My take is simple why run Futura ? Why run Legislate guaranteed to make the July Field. JS has his own agendas' From the beginning with not run in the VDJ. For the punters I say stay away from the Cape Horses peaking to early.
Back your fancy be happy. Striker or Gavin will win the July.

With all due respect Nish, what are you on about?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I am on about this VDJ Log. How does No Worries go up 11 places not running
JS says Legislate will not run in the July 2 MTHS AGO. Any ways i feel the punters should be careful July Day.

Wild one ran the best prep run of the day. Will murder fields over more ground this season.

10 years 1 day agoUnless a trainer scratches his horse officially then the panel can only work with the nominations they have on record- You cannot expect the panel to watch TT or call trainers and ask if they are serious about accepting or not. I feel that trainers, in the interest of fairness to punters should scratch early if they have no intention of running - Perhaps theeir could be a financial burden placed on horses that enter with no intention of running - Say if noms are 5k(I personally would increase this amount to stop time wasters) at second acceptance you get back 50% if you scratch a month before final acceptanceNish123YNWA wrote: I am on about this VDJ Log. i have to say that it sounds like a damn good idea Mr H...........would be great to get a better picture of what the intentions are earlier, leading up to the big races!

Sometimes I really wonder about the rubbish some people can post ........still I suppose everyone entitled to their opinion
I pretty much agree what was said on other threads about Legislate / Futura - just to note that Futura made up about 8 lengths on Legislate - now I know which one I support in the July; another thing to consider is what the handicapper will think of this race - I have Legislate running to 113 (using Halve a Def and Boucl Top as line horses); finally perhaps 2200 is really stretching Legislate (last year's July maybe a slow run race which allowed him to just make it home and the dam won only up to 1200) - so would not surprise me if they decide to send him straight to stud

Futura was always going to be running on over 1600m and will be ahead of Legislate over 2200m but these are not the only two horses in the July......
