Joao Moreira, the man charged with riding Hong Kong great Able Friend in what promises to be a white-hot renewal of the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, has maximum confidence in his mount.
A real superstar in his homeland and currently unbeaten over a mile, the five-year-old has been set a new task.
He certainly adds a new dimension to an already international meeting, and Moreira is just pleased to be the man on board.
"Everybody is trying to find out what is going on over there and we've had some information that he has settled in well," he told Racing UK.
"I'm just hoping that he's full of himself as I know he's a pretty good horse and I have a lot of faith in him. I think he has a winning chance over there.
"He's such a big and strong horse. You wouldn't think he could go that fast, but his stride is just amazing.
"He has put up some really good times over here. He's won his last six - four Group Ones - and I'm very lucky to be able to ride him.
"I'm just hoping he brings his best over because if he does I know he could be fighting for the win.
"This is his first run abroad but, at the same time, I have confidence that he's going to cope with it pretty good as he's such a nice character, nice and relaxed.
"When you put all that together you can go to any race anywhere in the world with confidence.
"He's the type of horse that, as a rider, you don't have to do much.
"He finds his rhythm and with a clear run he'll come strong to the line.
"He's pretty special."
Queen Anne Stakes - Ladbrokes: 7-4 Solow, 5-2 Able Friend, 5-1 Night Of Thunder, 10 Toormore, Arod, 12 Integral, 16 Criterion, 25 Here Comes When. Each-way 1/5 odds 1,2,3. Others on request.
