R1 Clonmel Silver Sally E/W. Exxaro will probably win this, but he is a very short price and the value is likely to be elsewhere in this uncompetitive maiden hurdle. The selection travelled like a dream until her stamina ran out over further at Listowel last time and tonight's shorter trip and quicker ground will be ideal. Can make the first three at 12/1 (5/2 for a place with William Hill and Paddy Power is way too big as well).

R2 Aintree Cardinal Palace. This is a very hot race for the time of year and the selection has run creditably in graded races (including a Grade 1) in Ireland on his last two outings over hurdles. He also ran with great credit against Wicklow Brave in a flat race on his most recent run. Nabucco was a very classy flat horse, but he isn't really bred to be a hurdler and is likely to go off at a shorter price than he should on his hurdling debut. Cardinal Palace will be hard to beat here and 11/8 is a fair enough price (is likely to be shorter come post time).

R7 Aintree Dardanella. This won't take much winning. The selection has been running well over slightly further recently and tonight's trip and going should be ideal. The opposition looks weak and 9/4 is a decent price in this small field.
