"Group" RESULTS - 'Sunday' 4th May Workings...
17 years 1 month ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed, and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.7, and with getting around 2.46/56 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.56 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and beyond, before tumbling back in again - so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was beaten, so a good result...
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 3.0 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at the rock bottom of the market and 2.6. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 2.9 and beyond, so another chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade cantered all the way, then quickened with genuine class to win well! So fair play and the way it goes - glad of the 'free' lay now though........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.9, and with being around 3.05 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.9 max. The lay finished 2nd to an outsider, as the unexposed nature threw up a nice surprise, so a good result......
The 4th runner we wanted 2.4, and with drifting to around 3.6 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a very nice priced winner (returned 3/1 sp - much bigger on exchanges)), but more importantly a good leave.......
The 5th runner we wanted 3.0, and with getting around 2.86 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at 2.86 max. The lay was beaten, and so a good result........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.1, and with drifting to around 3.8 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage after mails were sent, so all had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd after a battling finish, so the drift justified (maybe) and 'one that got away in hindsight......
The 7th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 3.2 on arrival - the race being over 30 minutes away - all strategy play finished - and just a bit of trading left at the table, I'm willing to leave it there and go and hit some balls. Good luck traders if you play on....
WELL PLAYED............(2 from the first 4 (50%) went and won - So not an easy start, but we came through it well and got the wages)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 1 target..........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and then went and hit their targets on their 4th lay (the 5th runner)...........They then ran out of enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, and so end the session winning 1 target...
'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit......Then came another 'free' lay (the 2nd runner) that only bought relief........They then had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.9 max, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.......Then came their 2nd lay (the 5th runner) at 2.86 max, and a good result see them hit their targets.....

Traders have won, or broke level on all their trades thus far, and so well played and good luck with the remainder lads..
So builders played a very calm and disciplined game to get the wages, and well played guys. Rollers also got the wages without too much fuss, so good stuff and well played. I'm off to practise my swing, so good luck traders with the remainder, and speak in the morning....
Oh, and by the way, well played last night after a tricky start it all then went well and the wages were landed, so well played last night guys....

That's our work for today then. Never easy, and we never expect it to be with plenty of unexposed races leaving us vulnerable to big drifts and gambles, plus several races lacking strength in depth!, but when we have enough ammunition to go into battle with, we'll always go in! Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon........
